Interesting to see that Marshawn Lynch is also going to be there since they were college teammates and they always seem happy to see each other at games (and I'm gonna assume they're friends off the field).

Guys whom had contracts with and the Packers either traded or released them.

Yes, hindsight, the Packers totally should of given a 3rd round pick for Marshawn Lynch, instead we used it to draft RB Alex Green, who couldn't read blocking to save his life...

What bothers me when reading through these comments is what team or front office can raise their hands when asked "which of you have never screwed up by not signing this guy or not drafting that guy."
I also question how much better that track record would look if the star QB on all these teams had a say in personnel decisions. Especially the ones being paid a boat load of money that plays into the cap in the first place.

So what it's coming down to is teams not paying big dollars for a QB can build a good team and then go buy a QB that has decided he doesn't want to play for the team that has paid him more than he can ever hope to spend?
This just isn't Rodgers you know. Wilson and Watson have been chirping too. I don't see this as a one off with ARod.

This begs the question then. Should teams be MORE on the ready to draft a good QB when the opportunity arises or shy away from the chance to cover their ass?
Hmmm...maybe it's true that where there is an action there is a reaction?

Watson's team was extremely stupid and let their head coach become GM and all he did was trade away some of their best players for peanuts to get a starting LT, and then forget to get a new contract, so now they have to pay him 40% OVER the top LT contract... and they are then in both cap hell and don't have any 1st round picks for a couple of years and don't even have a 2nd round pick this year.... extremely stupid and to top it all off, the owner by all accounts seems to be ignoring the entire team management, just to follow one guy, who's not supposed to be in charge, but since the owner follows him, he's totally in charge.

Wilson might be the best QB in the NFL... you'd never know it because their offensive scheme is clearly old and outdated for current NFL standards... and the liberal head coach, is extremely extremely conservative with the offensive passing game... and even the head coach has admitted he's been out of line and his son's (coaches on the team) had to help him see the big picture... the owner did as well... well the owner passed away, and one son has moved on to a different team. Leaving the head coach no checks and balances... and he's all about running the ball and short check downs.... and they have never really had an average NFL OL... though Wilson has stopped chirping now... and the Seahawks did upgrade their offensive system to the Rams system, so once the offense learns the system, they might be a hell lot better.

Rodgers is different... they've already gotten the players and system... this is more either commit to me long-term or trade me (preferring the commitment for the long term). Rodgers wants control of when he's shipped out.

To me, if a QB you think is going to be really good, you try to get him. Just like they did in 2005 when they signed Rodgers. Over 20 teams passed on him, including the 49ers, who took Alex Smith at #1. Now, had the Niners picked Rodgers, maybe he would have been thrown in the fire there, and flamed out. Maybe he wouldn’t have turned into the star he is here.
If you get the chance, you draft the guy you think could be huge. So to me , Rodgers should be more thankful to the Packers for giving him the chance when no one else would.
It seems some players think they are “all that, and a bag of chips”. The Packer brass has built a team that is right on the edge of going all the way. If Rodgers doesn’t see that, he’s blind. If he goes somewhere else, he’s not going to luck out into the same kind of situation Brady backed into. There is no other defense as strong as Tampa. Without that, the at best average play of Brady would not get a Super Bowl.
And a front office can’t afford to pass on a player in the draft because it might upset a player on the team.
That’s my opinion, at least.

Martha Careful (5h) : thank you Mucky for sticking up for me
Martha Careful (5h) : some of those people are smarter than you zero. However Pete Carroll is not
Mucky Tundra (8h) : Rude!
beast (9h) : Martha? 😋
Zero2Cool (13h) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (15h) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (17h) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
