I have to say that I was pretty disappointed in the Packers for staying in the locker room during the national anthem. Hopefully in coming weeks they will come out and at least lock arms.

Either way, I’m a true Packers fan and I’ll never boycott them.

Also, I can’t come into the chat much if any this year because I got married and bought a new house over the summer. My new house has no internet availability that I can find, and my cell signal sucks inside.

Over the last several months I was quick to state how no football would be fine with me. That if it means things return to normal faster without a year of football, so be it. Then the social justice kneeling not kneeling two anthems stuff was brought back up and that (along with not thinking football would happen) made me just wanna tune out and find other things to do. I don't think the announcers were obnoxious about the pregame stuff. At least, I didn't much notice it. I deliberately didn't start watching the game until after kickoff. And during the Packers game, I started to feel "alive" for lack of a better word. I felt like a little spark was triggered. Maybe it was football? Maybe it was Packers winning? Maybe it was Vikings losing? Maybe it was chatting with you folks in the chat? I don't know. I just know ... I liked how it felt and looking forward to another Sunday!

I have more sympathy for Philandro. Guys like Oscar Grant.

Glad to have football tho.

I dont care about people getting mad over a stupid song that is protested which is a human right. Nor i dont care about the arguments about the issue. Keep all that political talk from both sides off my TV. Im just glad football is back and that the Packers offense is running on all cylinders. Defense needs to get better though.

Reflecting back a little bit. I can't say I expected the NFL to have a full season of games. I was expecting maybe a Week 18, or something. They got every single regular season game played and of course playoffs. I think we might have seen the last of the preseason games. And I think I'm OK with that. I would like to see one or two games just so we can see rookies and fringe players get a chance. If they won't do that, then the NFL needs to establish a "minor" league so these kids and fringe players have a chance.

Anyhow, it was a fun season with you all. Even if I poked you a bit here and there for some discussion. I suspect this place will become even more scarce until around Free Agency and Draft. So, until then ...

I've read numerous places cite the highest scoring this and that as reason the preseason games do not matter. Also, many players say preseason is nothing but vanilla play calling and some hitting. The NFL and/or NFLPA is also on this 17th game kick. NFL fans are probably going to be forced to deal with a stupid idiotic two bye week season throughout 17 games. The players do not want the second bye week as they say it prolongs the season unnecessarily. The players say you won't recover much in that six extra days off. They'd rather the season start six days later, or end six days sooner.

The comments about high scoring completely negate the understanding that the defense is always what comes around last. Offenses always dictate what is going on. Defenses always have to react. Eliminating the preseason benefits the offenses. And the NFL thinks fans want to see lots of scoring. And if fans do, screw the game and let them peasant narrow minded dipshits ruin the sport. Eventually something else will come along and snag our attention. I'm not against scoring. I'm against rules and schematics and structural changes that favor one side significantly over the other.

DISCLAIMER: When I say "the players", let's not get it twisted. I'm talking about a half dozen or so who I've heard speak about it, so it's not like some overwhelming majority. I'm not trying to mislead people. It's just each player I've heard speak about it has denounced it's value.

The owners want the extra game so the NFLPA want them to "pay" for it by giving up something else. Even if it benefits them they want something in exchange. The extra game may still be a year or two away.

Zero2Cool (15h) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (19h) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (19h) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (20h) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (20h) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (20h) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (20h) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (20h) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (20h) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (20h) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (20h) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (20h) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (20h) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (20h) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (20h) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (21h) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (22h) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (22h) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (22h) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
