If a guy on offense fumbles, and does it consistently, chances are he won’t see the field.
King was a 100% liability.

So why not at least try to stop the bleeding?

Yeah you could bench King... but then who do you ask to play RCB?

Sullivan who's been at nickel all year and having some of his own troubles?

Tramon Williams who's past his prime, hasn't practice much with the team this year and the Packers choose not to bring back even at dirt cheap prices until the post season?

Or Savage? I'll be honest, I'm not completely against trying this idea, but I'd want to do it in practice and a Regular season game first...

At least with Chandon Sullivan, it wasn't "is this your first time playing football?" bad.

If your not going to play Tramon when your #2 CB is struggling to the level King was, then why sign him in the first place? The point of a vet that can still play is to use him when it benefits a team (which includes as an injury replacement)... especially when Tramon has some basic football sense/IQ, familiarity in the slot and is familiar with Pettine's system dating back to both their time in Cleveland.

What's the worst Hollman or Tramon could've done? Surely it wouldn't be worse than jumping 3 seconds and 5 yards early on a deep ball, or loosing your man for a long TD with the offense having no timeouts and being out of FG range, or grabbing the WR's jersey with one hand then letting go only to grab the jersey with your other hand (which is exactly what King did on the last penalty). Our defense generally has survived on not giving up big plays and forcing teams into stalling or making mistakes while giving up chunks of yards here or there. I can see Cheesey's point of any one of our backup CBs contributing to such a strategy more than Kevin King did.

Even if it is for the vet minimum, I just don't want King back. He was so bad that I literally cannot even see value in having him for next to nothing. MAYBE you can excuse that performance from a first year player... but a four year vet like King? GTFO of GB.

Yeah that timing of that jump was just plain weird, and honestly reminded me of the Seahawks game (was it the two point conversation), where Wilson threw a ball almost straight vertical, should of been easy picking to knock away since they were already in the redzone and Haha could track it worth a darn weird.

But the Packers also had good coverage on a lot of plays which is why Brady had to throw up chance balls and Packers should of had at least 4 INTs, if not more. King had his absolutely horrible moments, but he had some good coverage in there too, it's just much much mmmmmmuch harder to remember.

Great question, I can't tell you why they didn't sign him earlier in the season, nor why they brought him back then.

But they felt like he was worse than King... and Tramon strength was in the slot last season, where King started on the over him and he got best out by Sullivan.

And again, King played horrible at times, but he also played good at times, he literally is Mr. Inconsistent.

What's the worst Hollman or Tramon could've done?

Your post summed up exactly how I feel.
I would have put Tramon in for the second half.
If a guy makes plays even half of the time, that means half of the time he sucks. In a title game, that will kill you. (As it did the Packers). This was a wasted season. Can they make it back to the title game a third straight time? With a MUCH harder schedule? I don’t know. I hope so, but am not counting on it.
If they don’t fix the glaring holes this off season, the same thing will happen.
Funchess, has he played, maybe would have been a good #2 WR. But we will never know. If Ervin could have stayed healthy, maybe he would have helped a lot. He’s was really a good addition.
Our special teams sucked, once again. Other teams can make plays on STs, why have ours been so terrible?
Field position in the title game hurt us bad.
I’m still not over this loss. I’m better then I was, but every time I see an add for SB55, I want to throw up. I know it’s “just” a game, but it’s one of the few things that have helped me in this covid thing.
It took four months of hard work for the Packers to get there, home field throughout the playoffs, and the tires fell off. I’m just (still) frustrated.

But what Lord Sixth (best avatar on here, hands down, Mucky) was suggesting displayed faulty logic, IMO.

Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
