What i am saying is the picks themselves look at it this way, training camp 80 players. 80 minus 53 from last years roster = 27 now subtract the 9 draft picks and you have 18 left. 18 isnt very much when you count in the practice squad guys and IR from last year. Thats what i am saying about gaining more draft picks don't make sense. each additional draft pick another player from somewhere else that won't be allowed in.

The more players you have the better chance you get a good one. It's just a philosophy and one that a team like New England has used to perfection and I'm sure Kansas City will now do the same thing.

In reality it doesn't matter how many picks you have but whether or not you can identify the players in the draft. The better you are at that, the more picks you should have.

The point is with the reduced training camp roster, the less looks you get at players.. so every addition made this year against developing young players isn't really a gain.

We have a good talent base.. I would be disappointed with more than 8 picks in this draft.. every pick means someone that we have invested time into will have to take a walk.

I certainly see the point especially with the talent. GB really doesn't need many more young players and I've been saying that all off season.

This is as good as a year as any as to trade from early second into late round one to grab maybe an Eben Britton or William Beatty assuming GB grabbed maybe Tyson Jackson at No. 9.

I do think some tend to go overboard with the criticism of Thompson's philosophy to move down and acquire more picks. I mean who cares as long as you can get good players. Even if you have to cut a few draft picks. If one of those deals nets a starter, then that's a good deal.
