Question for the historians here.....

I was told that only three Packers coaches have won the "Coach of the year award" ?????

1959 Vince

1972 Dan Devine ???

1989 Lindy Infanti

I find that fricken amazing... That has got to be wrong!

McCarthy could've won it in 2007 if not for Belichick going 16-0, right? ... right? Or am I off base here? I thought he was in the running.

I know they have only had 13 or 14 coaches... But to think Vince only won it once in 59. Holmgren none? Devine Kills me, although he did go 10 and 4.

He got 2nd place if I remember correctly.

That same year, Brett Favre got 2nd in MVP voting after Tom Brady.

Odd that Lombardi won it when we were just 7-5 (as opposed to any of his 5 championships), Devine won it the year the Dolphins had the perfect season, and Infanti won it in a year when we didn't even make the playoffs. At least if those are the years we did have a coach win coach of the year.

Well, didn't McCarthy win the Motorola Coach of the Year last year? I know that Belichick got the main one, but McCarthy also got it.

Lombardi took us from the worst team in the NFL to a winning record. That's why.

Devine didn't deserve it, and history proved that right.

Infanti was a media darling. For some reason, the media loved him. Don't know why, but they just did. So much in fact that I was excited when I learned he became Packers' HC.
