The first skill player drafted in the first round by Green Bay since 2005 seems like a humble, down-to-earth sort of guy.

Dude had no one around him last year. He was just out there winging it. Yeah, 17 INTs. Nobody was getting open.

The deep ball accuracy will come with proper footwork. Matt is going to groom him. Build his offense around him. Put him in high percentage situations.

This would be a problem if he had to start as a rookie. But he went to a team with an established veteran. He gets time to develop. (Not to jinx of course.) Matt should have time to get him ready.

Is J. Love yet another 1st round project?

No one, especially Rodgers, believes that anyone can replace #12 until he retires or signs with another team. However as we have seen already before, one play can have all eyes looking to the backup QB From what I've seen/heard of Love, he has both the size as well as the physical abilities. The negative on him is his decision making during games. Weather a few NFL seasons can mature/season his field general abilities remains to be seen.

Rodgers will not be intimidated by Love or any other backup QB. That said, don't believe any media stories that may try to create a big story of a feud between Rodgers and Love, or any other Packers/coaches. Reporters are just looking for any way to elevate their carriers with a sensational story. They tried the same thing with LaFleur/Rodgers last season that never found any traction.

The loss of LB Blake Martinez should be very high priority, but let's recall how last year there were other concerns with defensive player personal that were solved with the addition of two fellows both named Smith. "Gute" has had few missteps so far as GB's GM. I'm quite sure that he is aware of what the team needs. Already FA players have been recruited. Weather they are onboard to push other players or as real potential roster additions will remain to be seen.

I too would value GB drafting a WR, LB, or an OT. Weather that happens or not, those positions will be filled by players. Their abilities or lack of abilities will reflect upon the GM as well as the Packers coaching staff. Last years success does no automatically transfer forward and responding to last seasons weaknesses or to the loss of key player/s or coaching personal should be the order of the day.

I will need to wait and see how the 2020 Packers forms into a team. For both Offensive and Defensive veterans, the 2020 season will offer greater familiarity with the LaFleur/Petite systems. I feel confident that both coaches have expressed to the GM their needs moving forward. Weather through scouting studies or with some good luck, player personal can sometimes turn out better than some thought it would.

Again, who was GB's #1 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and how did he contribute last season?

I can’t help but think adding Patrick Queen could’ve helped to put this team over the top. Hope Jordan Love works out for us in the future. But I can’t get on board with this pick. At least not for tonight.

Like I said, humble and down to earth. His answers on the SportsCenter interview weren't all that intelligent sounding (compared to, say, Joe Burrow's), but he was probably just feeling a little overwhelmed.

IMO a year too early unless Rodgers has advised management that his retiring in 3|4 years. I do think Rodgers will retire when he hits 40. I just don’t think being so close of winning it all last year put this position at a high need. I would of went with a WR/LB instead specially if Queen was still on board.

We picked Rodgers at 24 cause he was #2 ranked QB in the draft but not Love. This is Gut trying to leave his mark.

Mucky Tundra (4h) : He hasn't been too bad when healthy but I don't feel like I ever heard much about when he is

Zero2Cool (17-Feb) : Bengals planning to Franchise Tag Tamaurice Higgins
Zero2Cool (14-Feb) : Packers are hiring Luke Getsy as senior offensive assistant.

Zero2Cool (12-Feb) : Keisean Nixon is trying to get Maxx Crosby and Davante Adams lol
Mucky Tundra (11-Feb) : Yeah where did it go?
packerfanoutwest (11-Feb) : or did you resctrict access to that topic?
packerfanoutwest (11-Feb) : why did you remove the Playoff topic?

Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : NFL thought it would get more attention week preceding Super Bowl.
Zero2Cool (10-Feb) : Yes, the Pro Bowl. It was played Sunday before Super Bowl from 2010-2022
