Jordan Love | Quarterback | Utah State | 6'4" - 224 lbs.

Overview
Challenging evaluation for quarterback-needy teams balancing traits and potential against disappointing 2019 tape. Staff turnover and new starters across the offense are partly to blame for his regression, but self-made flaws in process were also concerns. Love's accuracy took a step back, and his delayed reaction from "see it" to "throw it" when making reads is troubling. He has the arm to stick throws into tight windows but needs better eye discipline and anticipation to keep windows open. His size, mobility and arm talent combined with his 2018 flashes could be a winning hand that leads a team into the future or a siren's song of erratic play and unfulfilled potential.

Strengths
• Tall in the pocket and smooth, natural thrower
• Keeps ball tucked and secure while scanning the field
• Tight spirals come from a variety of arm slots
• Offenses built upon intermediate and deep reads/throws
• Confident passer attacking between the hashes
• Makes athletic pocket exits when scrambling
• Good open-field vision and speed to move the sticks
• Arm strength to dime it into windows
• Drops deeps balls in with plenty of air and touch
• In 2018, trusted big receivers to make plays on 50/50s
• Arm talent and swagger to attack field side Cover 2 hole
• Has access to expedited, compact release when pressured
• Weaknesses
• Consistency and production took massive step backward in 2019
• Looping windup part of slower operation time
• Too much staring and telegraphing
• Six games with multiple interceptions, including three pick-sixes
• Below-average decision-making against zone looks
• Allowed coverage to swarm due to lack of anticipation
• Unusually spotty ball placement forced targets to work for catches
• Completed just 31.8 percent of his deep throws
• Doesn't slide to safer launch points enough
• Will void viable pockets at times
• Needs to use eyes to hold safeties longer
• Issues bringing in off-target snaps, leading to fumbles
I think that’s the dumbest thing they could’ve done. Especially trading up for him. My God.

I was hoping for a top WR.
Now we have a clip board holder.

If you believe in your coaching staff's ability to teach him vision and smarts, this is a great pick. I am glad that Gute recognized the need to prepare for the future at QB. Maybe we will see in about 3 years.

Bold move.

Aaron Rodgers is 36 and his play suggests he is declining. They are preparing for the future. Love has a ton talent. His arm, mobility, and size is amazing. If they believe he is a franchise QB, then you make the pick. The draft is about 3-4 years down the road, not the present.

I like the pick, I’m a big believer in having young qbs hold clipboards for the first few years of their careers. He has all the tools it’s just a matter of him being able to learn.

I hope Rodgers tries to help him learn, not like Favre treated Rodgers.

dfosterf (1h) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
dfosterf (1h) : Zero- Did you see what I posted about Voice of Reason and his wife? She posted over at fleaflicker that they are both "In"
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : Well, not crazy, it makes sense. Crazy I didn't notice/find it earlier
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : it's crazy how one stored procedure to get data bogged everything down for speed here
dfosterf (7-Aug) : to herd cats or goldfish without a bowl. They reminded me of the annual assembly of our fantasy league
dfosterf (7-Aug) : out on a field trip, outfitting them with little yellow smocks. Most of the little folk were well behaved, but several were like trying
dfosterf (7-Aug) : Yesterday my wife and I spent the afternoon on the waterfront here in Alexandria, Va. A daycare company took about 15 three/four year olds
wpr (7-Aug) : seems faster. yay
dfosterf (7-Aug) : Wife of reason posted on the in/out thread on fleaflicker that both she and vor are in

dfosterf (5-Aug) : I'm going to call that a good move.
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round

Martha Careful (2-Aug) : Congratulations Sterling Sharpe. He was terrific and I loved watching him play.
beast (2-Aug) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (2-Aug) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I would imagine Dallas will resolve this issue with a truckload of money
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : Micah pulling a Myles with trade request
beast (1-Aug) : Packers should make some cheese forks
