Professional receiver. Most have him in the second round. But the Packers don’t pick again till 62, and they see a solid but unspectacular disciplined route-runner and competitive 50-50-ball player. “He’s so reliable,” one coach told me Saturday. “He might get lost in a crop of receivers this good, but he shouldn’t. Of the guys I think will drop to 30, I don't trust any of these OTs to be developed enough for a top 50 selection... they got physical potential but also problems that I don't think will be easily solved.

Hamler is freaking lighting in a bottle, extremely explosive! Problem is that bottle is quite small, as he's UNDER 5'9", 180 and at times he struggles with catching passes, with a 16.9% drop rate in 2019.

It'll be interesting what Gute does at WR though, as he says he wants to add an explosive receiver, but hasn't seemed to even sniff anyone under 6'2"... but the most explosive WRs are under that, though there are some very good bigger WRs too.

That's a good point on Gute valuing size at WR. Even Devin Funchess is big.

Nevertheless, Hamler's explosiveness is scary good. He could play the slot and return punts on day one. A couple of shorter receivers he compares to are TY Hilton, Steve Smith, and Brandin Cooks. There's gaps in his game, but I think it's worth the risk.
