Does this mean Bryan Bulaga's days are over as a Green Bay Packers player?

This is breaking news. Ricky Wagner will jump from one NFC North offensive line to another. The Packers are signing the recently released Lions lineman, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com (on Twitter). A former Ravens starter, Wagner served as the Lions' right tackle for three seasons. He will be in [...]

yep. It doesn't make sense. He's 30 yo just like Bulaga. He's missed time due to injuries. IIRC, he's wasn't rated as high as Bulaga. It's a bad move even if he is paid less.

Seems like we signed him for less than half what Bulaga will get. He'll be a 1 year starter while the packers draft a guy in the 3rd round to develop imo.

Hmm. I would seem that Milt Hendrickson feels confident in his ability. Perhaps we can hit on another former Raven, just as we did with D Smith.

I like the "former Badger" factor.

I hope it works out, but sounds like an instant downgrade. Would love to re-sign Bulaga. Can’t keep Rodgers upright, can’t win. Especially with Rodgers getting older.

This is a really good move. It gives the Packers more depth and freedom in the draft. They most surely wanted to re-sign Bryan Bulaga. I'm guessing the price is just too much for him though. What makes an OL great is health. If the starting five (whichever that may be) stays healthy, they will be good. If they have to plug players in an out, that's when you need the pieces to be better than the "sum".

Packers need more cap space for the season, so I expect they're release or try to trade someone before the season, and add no more big names.

Wagner's is a stop gap, signed for half the price of Bulaga and we now need to draft a future OT (probably needed to even with Bulaga).

Also Bulaga, if healthy, should get the Packers a 4th round comp pick next year.

Well... looks like the Packers are going in a different direction.
I just hope it doesn’t end up getting Rodgers killed.
