If the Dolphins draft a QB, there may be an opportunity for the Pack to trade for Rosen without giving away too much. It is time for the team to start grooming the next starter and warm the bench for Rodgers. Making a move for Rosen would eliminate the need to look for a QB in the draft. Pack have more pressing needs in the short term but they also need a strategy for the long term. Is this crazy talk?

Miami acquired Rosen for a second-round pick in 2019 and a fifth-round pick in 2020. What would you propose Green Bay offer in their bid to pry him away from the Dolphins after a season in which he went 58/109 (53.2%) for 567 yards (5.2 ypa), 1 touchdown and 5 interceptions? His interception percentage stood at an eye-watering 4.6%. More importantly, if Gutekunst did made this move, do you think LaFleur's coaching staff would be able to whip him into the kind of shape required for him to represent a credible backup? To say he's raw would be a gross understatement. At this point I think I'd trust Boyle over Rosen.

Yes Rosen is crazy talk, if two teams give up on him in two years, and don't forget the scouting reports all say he's never been the most likable person to get along with (and yet we're people are complaining about Rodgers who doesn't even have a quarter of the negative personality reporting as Rosen)... unless maybe he's a steal of something.

I'd be much more interested in Andy Dalton, if something like this were to happen, price tag would be higher, but the kid can play when he actually has some talent around him.... they lost their elite OL guys and WRs depth. Not saying Dalton is an all star, but he can be a starter for sure.

Not to mention FA that you wouldn't have to trade for...

Ryan Tannehill (especially if they get Brady)
Teddy Bridgewater (tell me you don't want to beat the Vikings with a Vikings, lol, probably wants to stay in NO or start though)
Jameis Winston (okay, maybe stay away from unless he's cheap, great physical talent, but bone head )
Marcus Mariota played under LaFleur, and he's good when healthy... backups usually stay healthier
Case Keenum, wtwo of his last three years he's has 90+ QB rating, plays smart, took the Vikings to the playoffs.

I wouldn't give up anything more than a 4th round compensatory pick for him.

Scouts question his passion for football and whether he will be a willing student

Straight up trade for someone like Allison/MVS/ESB + mid to late pick would be interesting. Rosen is an opportunity because he may be a talented QB that has played for teams that expected results in year 1 and did not give him the support to make that a reality. This gives the Packers some leverage to get him on the cheap for a Dolphins team that picks up a QB in the first round. Kizer was in a similar situation with the Browns but he was never a guy who had the skills that fit well in the Packers offense imo.

Alternatively, it would be reassuring to hear the team say that Boyle is being groomed to be Rodger replacement. I like what I have seen from him and it would be great to see him get meaningful reps during the season if the opportunity presents itself.

I do think GB needs to consider looking for a QB of the future. Rodgers will be 37. It's likely he'll retire in the next 3 years.

I did like Josh Rosen at UCLA and I think he's gotten a raw deal in Arizona and Miami. Basically, he's had two rookie seasons due to the staffing and schematic changes. He needs structure and to remain in one spot for a couple of years.

Zero2Cool (9h) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (13h) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (13h) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (14h) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (14h) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (14h) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (14h) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (14h) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (14h) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (14h) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (14h) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (14h) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (15h) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (15h) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (15h) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (15h) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (17h) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (17h) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (17h) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
