It's a bad rule and a horrible interpretation. I hate how the NFL does things one way some of the time and another way other times. Ie: dig through the scrum to see who came up with the ball on plays they don't review. The only thing they should review is did the carrier fumble before being down or not. If he did and the other team comes out of the scrum with the ball that must mean he is the guy who recovered the fumble.

It seems like the NFL makes stuff up as they go along. 2 similar plays can have 2 different outcomes.

Even if they rule him down on the field in that situation, perhaps the refs should still sort through the pile and decide who recovered it in case of a challenge or review.

All season long the refs have called potential turnovers as turnovers and then let the review run its course. Great. So then playoffs come along and they rule the play dead so the review while proving them wrong is technical useless. Great work. Bullshit decision.

I read on line where so many people are screaming how the Packers get EVERY SINGLE CALL from the refs. Really???
Obviously they never watch any Packer games. Like the fumble with no obvious recovery? Yeah.....we get ALL the calls. What a load of.....you know what.
Those people aren’t honest, and just hate the Packers. Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good hate.
