It's a fun one to use, so don't be discouraged! Occam's Razor can be summed up thusly: if there are two competing theories, the simpler, more straightforward one is often correct.
Let's take a hypothetical situation:
A fictional poster, let's call him Merdnan, might suggest that the Packers have signed Ryan Grant because Davante Adams is a diva of the worst possible kind and is faking his injury to try and force a trade, a new contract, or to get #12 to throw him the ball more. Perhaps even that Adams was injured when #12's massive ego fell on him. A link to an article written by Greg Jennings or Jermichal Finley might follow.
Occam's Razor would suggest the more likely reason is the Packers signed Ryan Grant because they have a few injured WRs and need a healthy one.
