That kind of outcome is why he doesn't always keep his eyes down the field and is looking at protection more than he should. He doesn't trust the protection. And he (assuming, big assumption here) doesn't trust his WR to get open. He used to throw WR open and now it's looking like he waits until they are open or does the back shoulder / come back throws.

There's a big difference in how he QB's now as opposed to 3-5 years ago. Talent-wise, I think he still has it. He shows us flashes. I think the injuries have him a little spooked in the pocket and hearing footsteps when there aren't any. And that's a consequence of there BEING footsteps to begin with.

I admired him for his "California Cool" in the pocket. That's diminished. I'm not the only one who's noticed.

Unfortunately, on that play Aaron decided where he was going with the ball before it was even snapped. Blindly assumed the quick inside slant would be open and never even looked to see if they were sliding to it. Just snapped and threw.
