I just saw on ESPN where it's possible that Kansas City will be wanting to trade back. We could trade our 1st and possibly a 3rd to get Aaron Curry or one of the top tackles in the draft.

I don't know what we would trade them along with the 9, I just said a 3rd because I couldn't think of anything else.

Adding Curry would be amazing but I don't know how realistic that is with Ted Thompson as GM. Interesting option though.

Ya I would def. go for curry (he seems like a top notch LB) or jason smith.

I'm sort of excited about the 9 spot thou also ... raji, oher, jenkins, orakpo, brown - all seem like great candidates.

Well raji is a bit iffy now that the drug charges came out but as long as Ted Thompson grabs a good NT or DE in the later rounds like brace I'd feel fine about our up front 3.

I'd be excited if wed grab jenkins ... want a guy like that to take over once harris quits.

Why give up anything to move up in this draft?

Curry is a talent, but can he really be effective as a Pass Rusher at this level?

Move up to snag a top tackle, in almost every senario that I have run in the top 10, one of the 4 tackles has slid to 9.. Jason Smith, Monroe, Andre Smith or Oher.. we can stand at 9 and most likely have one of them available to us.

I think out of all the Drafts Ted has been a part of here in GB as GM, this might be the best draft to slide down if you have a dancing partner.

I truly believe this draft is loaded with talent that fits the mid to late 1st type value... but light on true blue chippers besides the offensive tackles in this draft.. and their stock was effected a little by the shear number of quality tackles in this draft.

I think there are more than one team that would like to drop out of the top 10.. just can they find teams willing to move up and give them value in return.

For me.. either sit at 9 and take the best talent on the board or slide down if someone is willing to dance. BPA.. even if it is Micheal Crabtree or if they grade on of the QB's out highly... either sets up interesting trade potential for getting proven players in return.

Who says Curry will be a pass rusher? Seems like he'd fit in at ILB.

I don't like that Andre guy a bit, but every other OT in the top 10 consideration would be a nice pick.

Well having a guy that isn't effective at rushing the passer somewhat handcuffs the ability to rush from any spot mentality that is often accompanied with the basic principles of a 3-4..

Add to it that we have a couple of backers already on the roster that have shown not to have the knack for pass rushing already.

Not saying he is a bad pick, but is he worth trading picks or players away to move up in the draft for?

I definitely want the slideback, and am quite cool with any concept that adds picks up through the 3rd round, (with the proviso we go no further back) however it might pan out, as long as I can see on paper draft-chart-value-wise that we made out in the deal. The further back we go, the better it will be "1350-wise". This is not the draft to become enamored with individuals early in the first round.

Oh, and since I'm getting greedy, I would like to protect my quarterback, open a hole for my running back, stop the other running back from going through my team like crap through a goose, and put their quarterback on his back, or at least seem like it is a threat to occur.

In other words, Crabtree, Sanchez, et. al. can kma.

It's an opinion. :thumbleft:

Mucky Tundra (35m) : Upon receiving the news about Luke Musgrave, I immediately fell to the ground
Mucky Tundra (36m) : Yeah baby!
Zero2Cool (56m) : LUKE MUSGRAVE PLAYING TONIGHT~!~~~~WOWHOAAOHAOAA yah
Zero2Cool (2h) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (2h) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (3h) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (3h) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (3h) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (3h) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (3h) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (3h) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (3h) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (3h) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (3h) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (3h) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (3h) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (3h) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
Zero2Cool (3h) : I literally just said it.
packerfanoutwest (3h) : show us a scenario where Pack don't get in? bet you can't
Zero2Cool (3h) : Falcons, Buccaneers would need to win final two games.
Zero2Cool (3h) : Yes, if they win one of three, they are lock. If they lose out, they can be eliminated.
packerfanoutwest (3h) : as I just said,,gtheyh are in no matter what
Zero2Cool (3h) : Packers should get in. I just hope it's not 7th seed. Feels dirty.
packerfanoutwest (3h) : If packers lose out, no matter what, they are in
packerfanoutwest (3h) : both teams can not male the playoffs....falcon hold the tie breaker
packerfanoutwest (3h) : if bucs win out they win their division
beast (4h) : Fine, Buccaneers and Falcons can get ahead of us
packerfanoutwest (4h) : falcons are already ahead of us
beast (4h) : Packers will get in
beast (4h) : If Packers lose the rest of their games and Falcons win the rest of theirs, they could pass us... but not gonna happen
packerfanoutwest (4h) : they still are in the playoffs
packerfanoutwest (4h) : If Packers lose the remaining games,,,,at 10-7
Zero2Cool (6h) : We can say it. We don't play.
Mucky Tundra (7h) : But to say they are in is looking past the Saints
Mucky Tundra (7h) : That said, their odds are very favorable with a >99% chance of making the playoffs entering this week's games
Mucky Tundra (7h) : Packers are not in and have not clinched a playoff spot.
buckeyepackfan (8h) : Packers are in, they need to keep winning to improve their seed#.
Mucky Tundra (16h) : Getting help would have been nice, but helping ourselves should always be the plan
beast (17h) : Too bad Seahawks couldn't beat Vikings
bboystyle (17h) : We just need to win Monday night and were in
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Or ties, but let's be real here
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Other scenario was Falcons+Rams losses
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Needed a Falcons loss for a Seahawk loss to clinch
buckeyepackfan (21h) : Am I wring in saying if Tge Vikings beat The Seahawks, The Packers clinch?
Mucky Tundra (21-Dec) : Agreed; you stinks
Zero2Cool (21-Dec) : I'm not beating anyone. I stinks.
Mucky Tundra (21-Dec) : rough injury for tank dell. guy can't catch abreak
