Daniels was slated to make $8.1 million in 2019, so his move to the Lions essentially comes with a $1 million raise.

If someone signs for less, that doesn't automatically mean they were overpaid, especially if they were released outside of the hot FA period which is where FAs get the top dollar.

Depends how you look at it I guess. But that is probably right. It saved us 10+M to cut him. His base salary was 8.1 and everything after that we probably already paid him as a signing bonus. So if he is getting 9.1 from the lions then he probably is getting away with 1 million more than he would have got here. But the lions cap hit is 1+M less than what GB's was.

Daniels has been a model of consistency, producing an overall grade of 70.0 or higher in six of his seven seasons and a pass-rush grade of 70.0 or higher in his last four seasons. He has also been a plus run-defender, grading at 75.0 or above in five of his seven seasons.
