Friday night I and my wife were driving home on hwy 26 about 20 miles north of I-94. It was around 11:30pm, when out of the corner of my eye I saw a bright green light. Now, I have seen “shooting stars” by the hundreds in my life. This was something spectacular! It was a beautiful green, and broke into pieces as it fell. It also lasted about 5 seconds. Enough time for me to yell for my wife to look, and she also got to see it too.
I have watched the computer to see if anyone posted about it, but didn’t see anything.

This past December, while driving home from work, I witnessed a huge blue-green fireball arcing over the street on which I live. It split into two pieces, which went in separate directions. I was startled to say the least -- the sun hadn't even set yet! I hadn't seen a meteor like that since I was teenager. Later that evening, a quick Google search revealed that the Geminid meteor shower, known for its blue-green fireballs, was peaking that week. I'd had no idea.

If this happened in Russia, 100 people would have caught it on their dash cams. That being said, cheesey please start the dash cam movement in this country.

That actually wouldn’t have helped in this particular case. I was driving south, and the meteor was too my left, which was east. So a dash cam wouldn’t have seen it. I wish I could have caught it on film. Would have been pretty neat.

Just by blind luck I found that the meteor we saw was captured on dash cams of several Milwaukee county busses!
If you put “Milwaukee county buses catch meteor on their camera 2019” in the search, you can see what I and my wife saw back in May!
