I'm still going on record and saying i believe the lions will be close to a 500 team this year. Go ahead and laugh but im not laughing at anyone elses predictions (ok just one but cmon it was a joke Packers 16-0) They have a stud Wr in Johnson and a good back from his rookie year stats, plus they have 3 of the first 33 picks. Other people talk about the Bears not having any wrs, well they had a better record than us without them so i hope like hell they don't find any. I see a little improvement in us this year hopefully winning some of those games late. The Vikings i think should be the clear front runners, they added a qb that can spread the field and with their running game thats all they need and they have by far (not even close) the best defense in our division. I see our whole division right around .500 ball.

That's putting an awful lot of stock in rookies. I would hope our #1 round pick ends up helping alot and maybe get some good rotation play from a couple others. The biggest return should be a couple years down the road.

I find it kind of ironic you talk about the Lions draft position in support of a fairly significant turnaround when you run to the line and spit at Ted for being so bullish about building our own team by that same means.

But you forget they are also active in the Free agent market. I know i will catch hell for this comment but i think the Lions have the best wr in the division in Johnson if they could only get a qb and another wr to go with him. I also don't think they are done yet with trades. With the likes of Braylon Edwards, Boldin and Ocho Cinco all available for trade they could very quickly be the best wr tandem in the NFL. I refuse to sleep on the Lions this year and won't take anything for granted.

Hell look at the Cards last year who would have thought they would be in the playoffs, hell their own fans didn't believe ( they had to run promotions to sell out the 1st playoff game).
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

The Lions will be improved but I don't think enough to be a threat this year. Calvin Johnson is the best WR in the division followed closely by Driver and Jennings.

The Lions are going to be coming up out of the doldrums the next couple years however not this year. They could make a push for 3rd in the division if GB, Minn, or Chic. has a very down year I suppose.

Are you talking about the Vikings or Bears here? I'm not sure I'd put that much Stock into Sage Rosenfels.

Like it or not, 6 years 65 mill with 20 mill gauranteed makes him a FRANCHISE QB.

I guess Joey Harrington, Akili Smith, Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch, Alex Smith are all franchise qbs then 😛

I'm maybe being negative but I'm not on the Bears bandwagon till Cutler proves me wrong. I think people need to realize he going to be playing with way less talent then he's use to so we'll see. The other thing that I've always found interesting about the Bears is the more talent they have at QB it isn't always a good thing. They often seem to be at their best playing defence and running the ball. Then a guy like Grossman comes in and maybe has more passing abilities then a guy like Orton but it just isn't the Bears and usually ends up losing them games. I'm guessing Vikings, Packers Bears then Lions.

it's pretty clear that the days of the bears winning games with their defense are over. If they're going to win, they're going to need Cutler to be a big factor. He sure didn't handle the pressures of the last 6 weeks very well. Let's see what happens when the people in Chicago turn the heat up a bit. I mean, he's got talent, but I see why the Vikings weren't serious about acquiring him. Of course, he could prove me dead wrong.

The Bears may not have any great WR's but Forte out of the backfield, Greg Olson, along with Hesters speed to further compliment Cutlers arm strength is not a bad group.

Forte is a nice up and coming player running the ball. They were 9-7 last year and I see nothing they have done that sets them back. They may be a force in the North this year.

Whatever the case, Chicago has that Franchise QB they have been missing for decades. I think it is the move of the off-season hands down. To bad for us our division rivals made it

I'd go so far as to agree with you for the most part, dd. The thing is, it is the move of the off-season. So, we can talk about it all we want, but the fact remains that it is still the off-season, where nothing is decided. I'm not arguing with you, and I'm not implying that you wouldn't agree with me. Just saying that by deciding that it is the move of the offseason doesn't actually decide anything. It could prove to be that Denver made the move of the decade depending on who they get with a 3rd round and two 1st round draft picks.

I agree 100% with you, however it may just be the off-season but how hard would Jay Cutler have to fall for him not to be an improvement over any of the QB's they have had in the lst 2 decades?
