I still like CM3 - think he plays with a lot of heart. No idea about these new guys - but we threw money at them.

I'd play with a lot of heart, as well, but I'm afraid that just doesn't cut it. He had 3.5 sacks while playing all 16 games and ranked as the 59th edge rusher in the entire league according to PFF. That's still slightly above average, but not by a lot.

I guess you could get him back if he somehow would agree to playing 2nd/3rd string on a 1-year deal totalling less than $ 4 million. I mean, I think Smith and Smith would get the most snaps, with Fackrell just behind. I just don't see him play in that roll.

There'll be a team desperate for edge rushers who'll give him a lot more than he's currently worth, based on his former production and name.

I believe Clay has a role as pass rush specialist. Does he realize he's older and lost a step or two? That I don't know. I do know he was not good at inside, so thankfully we don't have to worry about the Packers messing up and bringing him back to play inside.

You keep him around 20-25 snaps a game on long distance downs to smack the QB, I think he'd excel for a few seasons.

I like Clay. It doesn't mean I want him on the field very much. It's been apparent for a few years that he can't get to the QB. Sadly he's more of a marketing figurehead than an on-field leader. The "blood line" moniker has been transferred to his cousin Jake.
