I don't see us finishing 3rd at all.

We will have the best offense in the division just like we were far and away the best last season.

People frett about our defense. One stat that might surprise people.

Total yards allowed per game: GB-334
Total Yards allowed per game: Bears-334

The exact same number.

The Bears have done zero to improve their defense AND that D is getting much older vs. the Pack who has much younger players and has a very good new DC.

Now you add the fact that the Bears can now do little to improve thru the draft and we are sitting in a good spot there.

I tell you one group of people that doesn't think they'll finish 3rd and that's the players. They KNOW they can beat these teams and know they SHOULD have swept the damn division last year.

It's much easier coming out with a chip on your shoulder after going 6-10 and giving division games away than it is coming off a surprising 13-3 season. I think they will be ready.

I'm still going on record and saying i believe the lions will be close to a 500 team this year. Go ahead and laugh but im not laughing at anyone elses predictions (ok just one but cmon it was a joke Packers 16-0) They have a stud Wr in Johnson and a good back from his rookie year stats, plus they have 3 of the first 33 picks. Other people talk about the Bears not having any wrs, well they had a better record than us without them so i hope like hell they don't find any. I see a little improvement in us this year hopefully winning some of those games late. The Vikings i think should be the clear front runners, they added a qb that can spread the field and with their running game thats all they need and they have by far (not even close) the best defense in our division. I see our whole division right around .500 ball.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Also, we need to see how this Bears deal works out - Cutler's got beef with Ron Turner, and Bus will certainly be looking to get a blockbuster deal, so there's no guarantee that things start out smoothly. It'd take a moron to cause shit on their new team right off the bat, but we're talking about Jay Cutler and Bus Cook, here.

I agree with almost all of this - Schwartz is a smart guy, and he could get something out of that team. Vikes should be the front runners, also agreed. I think it's a little too early to say how this Cutler deal works out - he's definitely a good QB, but he's got to learn a new system (run by a guy he doesn't like) and Hester's got some issues with route-running, so they might not blow up right away.

I hope we have a good draft and get some decent additions in post-draft FA (note: I said *hope*), because with a few more good players we could be a much better team than we are at present.

NFC North is certainly looking to be a much tougher division next year than it has for quite a while, and I could definitely see the Pack, Bears and Vikes beating each other up - could be a photo finish.

I just hope they fix the penalties on Defense. We didn't commit the most defensive penalties but I think we gave up 33 first downs on penalties which was the highest in the NFL.

If our defense improves we have just as good a chance as any team in the north to win the division, it will take a year or so for Cutler to learn the system, I wouldn't worry too much about da Bears. Besides what happened the last time we played Cutler?

That's putting an awful lot of stock in rookies. I would hope our #1 round pick ends up helping alot and maybe get some good rotation play from a couple others. The biggest return should be a couple years down the road.

I find it kind of ironic you talk about the Lions draft position in support of a fairly significant turnaround when you run to the line and spit at Ted for being so bullish about building our own team by that same means.

The Bears have certainly improved themselves at QB as far as talent. However if Cutler and Bus keep working at it he could be the second coming of Jeff George. That would be laughable.

Too bad they didn't sign TO. Could you imagine what he could do with Cutler's sensative psych.

I just can't see how we have improved at all at this time. The Bears and Vikings both have. We just kind of sitting in idle.
