I cannot wait for the next bang cartoon. I don't know where the standings will be, but I'm pretty sure the cartoon depicting this clusterf#ck is going to be some seriously funny stuff.

I don't think the Packers will be 3rd in the NFL North.

The Packers lost all 7 games that were with in 7 points or something like that, usually things like that don't happen and the Packers will win some of those next year.

The Vikings has about very bit of luck go there way. They should of lost to the Lions but two horrible ref calls and a good long FG by Ryan Longwell saved that game for the Vikings and they almost lost the other Lions game. The shouldn't of beaten the Packers ether but the Packers choked it away and they got a bad ref call on the touchback.

The Bears defense is a lot worse than it has been and they haven't really helped it at all after cutting their starting S and they don't have a 1st or 3rd to help them.

That's just what I want in a starting QB, a diabetic w/ a drinking problem and a losing record! Where do I sign?

I like the prediction from earlier... Packers 6-10... wow really? I wonder what influenced you to predict that record.

Any prediction I guess is good though because as we all know this league is oozing with parity these days. I have cautious optimism that would be a lot less cautious if I felt like we had a better d-line situation at the moment. I don't see, though, how this trade makes the Bears the favorite. I think the heat of the moment makes people jittery.

Packers offense > Bears > Vikings > Lions
Vikings defense > Packers > Bears > Lions

That is how I see it.

How many times did Dan Marino prove that a QB can only take a team so far?

It's like you read my mind. I have been saying this to all the Bears fans and it shuts them up immediately. Some people have compared Cutler to Grossman, some have ranked him top 10. I assume they compared him to sexxy Rexy because of the interceptions.

Anyways, yes. Bears defense is on a HUGE decline. Their used-to-be biggest threat in Urlacher is not a threat anymore. Briggs is honestly the only highlight of that defense.

The Bears offense is well, its Bears offense. Is Cutler going to be frustrated?
They have no offensive line...over aged. They signed Orlando Pace and the Bears fans are crazy about him because he is a hall of famer? He's past his time. Kruetz is tough but every year he gets more sloppy. Garza sucks. They are moving the rookie LT, Chris Williams over to RT I believe.

They have no receivers. Their #1 receiver is easily a #3 receiver on another team, a #5 on the Pack.

Running game is great with Forte but an aged line isn't going to do much for him.

Alot of people are talking Bears defense in Chicago right now and how they are good. The Bears defense was ranked at #21 last year, a slot below our defense....enough said? They haven't made any improvements on defense this year.

Cutler is good, Bears are bad...they will make for a mediocre team next year. A good quarterback doesn't make a good defense and I believe receivers make a quarterback look good (that can be argued by some).

If you have no one to throw too, doesn't matter if your a good QB.
SO FAR the Bears don't have a WR threat.
Does Cutler make them better? I'd say yes.
But then again, with Rex reallyGROSS man and Kyle "Orton hears a who", even Tarvaris Jackson would be a step up. (Well......that might be stretching it a bit.....but you get my drift.)

Oh boy, predictions are fun!

But I'm not ready to make a prediction until the draft and 2nd wave of FA are done - if they can plug some of their holes, I'd say they can do better than 3rd, and we'll be in for an exciting season with 3 very good teams fighting it out. We've already got arguably the best offense in the division, so the defense and ST are our question marks. The Vikings are going to be about as good as they were last year, unless Sage or Tavaris has an epiphany. The Bears are certainly better on offense than they were last year, but lack a real threat at WR (unless the lights come on for Hester) and their defense isn't aging well.

As the rosters stand right now, 3rd is realistic - but the offseason personnel game isn't over yet, so predicting anything now is pretty much just a way to kill some time.

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.

Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
