I've been thinking about the offensive system that LeFleur and his staff will implement, and I can't help but believe we will see more two back sets. Looking at his background he likes to utilize a RB, if not both, as an extra receiver(s). Add more zone blocking with a guy like Jones, and I really think we will see more options in the passing game from the running backs.

A solid first contribution for a rookie. Welcome to the boards! How do you feel about the hiring of LeFleur overall?

Regarding the RB's Derrick Henry and Corey Davis both consistently improved under LeFluer. When things got bad for Tennessee those guys showed up and put up stats. This is a big area I will be looking for improvement in from the Packers.

That said, we can legitimately spend a high pick on the RB position now, because we have a coach that will actually use that player.

Please don't be surprised if the members don't always agree or get along civilly, it happens. For the most part I believe you'll find, as I have, that posters just want to express their views and not rip into others for their views. I will say that you'll be challenged if your facts are wrong or for personal attacks (which rarely ever occur). I like to learn from members post and sometimes I too can add to the collective level of uplifting facts.

I don't fully understand the new offensive system that LaFleur will be bringing to the Packers. How is it different from other offenses like the "West Coast" or others. Does it have a name/label yet? How will this system mesh with GB's veteran personal? Will it require starting personal changes to implement it? What is the philosophy of this new offensive system?

If nothing else, I look forward to learning about all this and more moving forward. I hope that you and others will educate the rest of us.

I think we should use a fake name for the offense so the opposing defense doesn't know what we are doing.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

While that is part of it, and I wish they would run a bit more, I would be happy if they would get the RBs involved in the passing game. If I read the stat right James White tied a playoff record with 15 receptions in the Patriots win yesterday. Alvin Kamara is often used more as a pass catcher than a runner. I'm not saying Jones needs 20 carries a game but he should be getting 20 touches at least. This is Aaron Rodgers' team and Aaron has been one of the best QBs to ever play the game. To suggest that they convert to a run first offense is silly with a man like that taking snaps. However, to not utilize every weapon and every opportunity for him to make his passes passes is equally silly.

Of course LaFleur will have to convince Rodgers to buy into it.

Just kidding one that, I'm not advocating going after Bell.

As far as drafting A RB high I am always for that if, like you said, we have an offensive game plan that will use them to the best of their abilities. I'm not sure what the draft is like for RBs but I doubt they would go for one in rounds 1 or 2 unless LaFleur simply doesn't like Jones but I'm not sure why he wouldn't.

Martha Careful (17-Nov) : The badgers really need to change the whole offensive scheme. No draws no screens plus the quarterback is marginal
Cheesey (17-Nov) : If the Badgers had a decent QB, they would have won. The guy can't hit a wide open receiver
Martha Careful (17-Nov) : chop block
Martha Careful (17-Nov) : there was a very questionable job Block call that upon viewing replay was very borderline
