Didn't Kyle Shanahan coach Kirk Cousins to a fully guaranteed contact, or at least a filthy amount of guaranteed cash?

Pure speculation here, but I will bet a shiny new dime that McDaniels wanted greater say/veto power on personnel decisions.

I am also guessing that he isn’t as big of a fan of Pettine as many of us are.

Ian Rapoport says that Lafleur is a workhorse who will be expected to challenge Aaron Rodgers. I am really liking the sounds of this:

Although rumor had it that Gutekunst and Murphy were not put off by McDaniels' "my-way-or-the-highway" approach to the interview, it's entirely possible they were more comfortable with the idea of going with a candidate who was content to stay in his lane and focus on producing results on the field.

Murphy should announce the hiring of Matt Lafleur with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. 😂

If it is ML, I feel comfortable that he will emphasize the value of a strong offensive line, instrumental to a good ground game which sets up a play action.

Another poster, I apologize to whoever it was, made a good point about getting more depth at running back with at least one more solid starter.

ZOMG, Aaron Nagler retweeted me! 😍

This response had me rolling:

(For those of you who don't follow Nagler, the tweet is a reference to Nagler's calling Murphy a coward for letting Philbin do the Monday-morning press conference instead of doing the merciful thing by firing Philbin and holding the presser himself.)

Knowing Kirk Cousins inside out is an added bonus.

I am guessing no on Campen, i.e. a clean slate on offense.
