That could be an interesting hire. Like tweeted, though, I imagine he's high up on a lot of lists. Even if it's true that he's our number one guy, there's a real possibility we won't be his number one team.

Report: Browns ownership interested in Adam Gase

The Cleveland Browns had an interest in Adam Gase before he accepted the Miami Dolphins head coaching job last time around. The Browns decided to hire Hue Jackson and now both men are looking for work. Owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam are boosters for the University of Tennessee as is former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning. Manning recommended Gase to Cleveland the last time. According to Jeff Darlington of ESPN, Manning has recommended Gase again and the Haslams are intrigued.

...

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Gase has already heard from the majority of teams with a head coaching vacancy. He is expected to start interviewing for positions next week.

If, as a potential head coach, I had to choose between Cleveland and Green Bay right now, I think I'd go with Cleveland. You have a young core of good players and a quarterback who's showing a lot of promise, who's on a rookie deal, so you can really build up a team. With a GM pretty early on in his tenure bringing in his own head coach, maybe you'll get some more stability, as well, since you're most likely tied to eachother.

Pill of chill taken. I was passing information from respected resources and trying to cite them as I go. You come along saying everyone is a lock or something. No one knows what to believe as it is during this time and folks throwing fan thoughts as legitimate sources just muddy the waters. Ya get me?

And it's important to at least consider that the best sources we.got might be dead on the money, correct.

I was thinking he was trying to multitask, trying not to say somethings (not be too mean or transparent to the guy he fired), while explaining why he made a big move, while also spinning things in his favor to make him look better, and it came out as a big confusing mess.

It seems to me only logical that McDaniels would be the front-runner:
- He has head coaching experience (an even though it wasn't great, people can learn from mistakes)
- He has coached under the best current coach in football
- He has coached a great quarterback and would command the respect of 12 more than any other candidate
- He and 12 would both have something to prove should he get the job
- McDaniels would want to show it was he who turned 12 back around
- 12 would want to eviscerate Brady's records

You say you've read people say ...

I've read people say Fitzgerald is a lock, but that potential could of been crazy fans and not media.... as I've also read that Murphy needs.to be fired because he's failed to give Gute full control and that's why this season was a failure and that failing the Packers by bringing in his guy from college, etc etc...

Lots of crazy stuff is coming out lately with the Packers struggling... fans reaching for anything out.of place as extrmeme things that need to be done to fix it...

I'm afraid that if we see highly valued coaching candidates bypassing Green Bay for other jobs, that this will be an indication that they don't believe that Rodgers previously stellar play can be resurrected this late in his career.

I don't know who I would prefer between Adam Gase and Josh McDaniels. But looking at Tom Brady's stats, he didn't have much drop off when McDaniels left.

When I wrote my first part to this, I could of swore that a Packers fan claimed that a lower rated Packers media site (I don't remember which, but I remember not thinking it was a creditable source) claimed that Northwestern coach was a lock because of his connection to Murphy.

I didn't go out of my way to fact check them... as I believed that a non-creditable Packers media site might say that... (and I took that and formed my opinion that some in the media might just be click baiting)

But you said no one in the media has said that and I have taken your word over theirs...

But Bill O'Brien was pretty good offensive mind too when McDaniels left... O'Brien being the head coach for the Texans now. I was wanting O'Brien as potential head coach when it was rumored he and the long term GM, who seemed like he couldn't get fired, we're headed for a divorce but then the GM's wife had HUGE medical problem, so he stepped down and O'Brien stayed.

Martha Careful (6-Jan) : watching the Vikings and Lions it's understandable why they swept the Packers. So much better product
