I went to bed after this. I thought for sure it was four down territory with all the injuries our defense had and you know, Aaron Rodgers.

When assessing the wisdom of a coaching decision, perhaps the best evidence comes from the reaction of the opposing coach. If it's glee, then the decision may have been ill-advised. And that accurately describes Seahawks coach Pete Carroll's reaction to Packers coach Mike McCarthy's decision to punt the ball on fourth and two from his [more]

I got up and left the room. I told my wife the game is over and GB will never get the ball back. The defense was worn out already. Worst McCarthy-ism of the day. He was fooling himself to think the defense would stop the Beagles.

- Your own 33 yard line
- 25% 3rd down conversion percentage to that point
- Rodgers just WHIFFED on an EASY should-be first down conversion to MVS

Under normal conditions I would have agreed with the call and I'm still not convinced it was terrible (what musccy just said), but with Clark and Daniels out (was Clark still out? I don't know if he came back after his injury) anyway, yeah, had a bad feeling.

I was watching it on my phone with Yahoo streaming and after a first half with only 2 delays of less than 2 or 3 seconds the whole second half was terrible. I missed the third down pass to MVS. It came back right before the punt and they never showed the replay after that.

edit: I should say under some circumstances because you never know what normal is. With 2 or 3 time outs left and Daniels and Clark still in the game I could see it but not the way it was laid out last night.

It is almost like Mike McCarthy said, "I am not going to let the Seahawks earn the win. Instead, I am going to have my team in control of losing the game"

Florio’s comments are inane, especially this one. Asswipe Pete Carroll would have been clapping like a seal either way.
