Packers did pretty well in MM's first couple of years if you look past his first year and Rodgers first starting year. MM was a good hire... I think fans bigger question is was he the best hire? And should he have been kept after 2012 or some season after that, when Schneider was no longer part of the team.

I can easily argue that Sean Payton might have a better system and be a better leader in terms of motivators and creative ideas... but when they announced the MM hiring, I believe Thompson said he was looking for the best man or best person for the job.

There have been a number of question activities that have under Peyton from 'Bountygate' to I believe being accused of abusing people and stealing pain medication... amount others stuff, I think you can question if he's "Packers People" (as the phrase goes).

In my initial rage at the ignominious collapse in the NFC Championship Game against the Seahawks, I was calling for Mike McCarthy's head (actually, I called for his head after the championship game against the Giants, when he refused to put Rodgers in during a second half in which Favre had already visibly checked out), but then I calmed down and figured I shouldn't jump to conclusions. But now I'm not sure what it would take to convince me that he should be kept on after this season. I don't know if there is anything that would make me comfortable giving him another chance -- and that's despite knowing his successor could very well be worse.

I think McCarrthy was a fine choice and it worked out well for a while. Its just that he may be winding down and its time to move on.
