"We talk about being brothers," he said. "We talk about being family and keeping things in-house, in-house, this, that and the other. That's not what happened. I don't know. Maybe that's what they do in their family. That's not what I do in mine. No one ever said anything to me. No one ever came to me. So I'm thoroughly disappointed in the speculation and just the backlash I have to deal with now. Because now, we're talking about my character. We're not even talking about the fumble anymore, we're talking about my character. We're talking about the reasons why I did what I did, and I'm not OK with that." -Montgomery

I think there's atleast a 50/50 chance Montgomery is cut or traded today. He's a talented player on a cheap deal so its in the Packers interest to try and keep him in the fold. However if this is going to divide the locker room...

Like I said in other threads, winning fixes things. Losing , you hear all the bad stuff.
Crosby lost games for us, the team rallied around him. Montgomery screws up and it seems guys may have turned their back on him.
Now that the Packers are trying to trade Ty, I'd say his days here are over.
Even if they can't get someone to take him, you know it's over.
Bostic screwed up and was gone.
Ty will be gone one way or another.
JMO of course.

That's kind of the point. He was benched. He threw a fit. He was given explicit instructions, ignored them because of said fit, made an objectively boneheaded move, it turned out badly, and it turned a ~60% chance of winning the game to maybe a 5% chance. Even if this was just an honest mistake... So? We've already been talking about our RBs all being good and not getting enough playing time. Even if this wouldn't have happened you don't think we'd trade Monty for say, a safety or any other position that's suffering right now?

If we had two other QBs on the roster with roughly the same talent level both potential and demonstrated but different skillsets? Yeah I definitely would say "Let's trade him". Absolutely not the same situation though. He's an expendable player at an expendable position that has the most depth on the Packers that's already not getting much playing time. Aaron Rodgers isn't the franchise but he's the least expendable player on this squad, and thus gets more latitude to be a diva.

People like to think that teams need to treat every single player exactly the same but that's not realistic. Even Lombardi knew you have to treat them like individuals. Some guys respond to one method. Others to something completely opposite.

I like to point out that the #50-53 players on the team have no room whatsoever for any mistakes. I don't know where we would have classified Ty but as the 3rd RB it would have been pretty low. These guys have to go out there and do their job which includes doing exactly what the coach tells them to do. If they are the #1 or 2 player on the team they can freelance a little more. After all they must have done something to earn being the best player out there.
