49ers 24
Green Bay 20

I don’t feel positive at all about this game. Too many injuries and bad play.
I hope I’m wrong.

The first half dozen or so games should give the Packers a great indicator of what is working and what is not working and go into the BYE week learn some new wrinkles and come out destroying NFL defenses so bad they can't tell what way they got murder slaughtered!!

No mention of any gusting winds.

This is a "get right" game. The Packers have the talent to compete in the NFC. They certainly have the talent to win the NFC North, especially with Minnesota looking more vulnerable than people anticipated. In other words, despite all the doom and gloom, there is still a lot to be hopeful about.

The Packers should dominate San Francisco. I'm not looking for a sloppy win (e.g., Buffalo, Chicago). I am looking for an emphatic win where everyone clicks on all cylinders. They haven't had a win like that since 2016.

Get that win against San Francisco, and things will be looking good heading into the bye and eventually their showdown with the L.A. Rams. Then we'll find out just what kind of team Green Bay will be this season.

The Packers know firsthand what the 49ers are going through.

It was a year ago today that Aaron Rodgers went down with a broken collarbone against the Vikings, sending Green Bay into new realms of total oblivion.

Three weeks removed from losing Jimmy Garoppolo to a season-ending ACL tear, the Niners (1-4) ride into Monday night minus their north star, leaving San Francisco fans with little to cling to in what amounts to a drifting campaign.

Feelings of aimlessness do not apply to Green Bay, a squad angling to author a win for just the second time in the past calendar month.

[...]

New coordinator Mike Pettine has brought creative flair to help the Packers notch a respectable 16 sacks in five outings. The unit allowed just 145 total yards in a rugged 20-0 trouncing of the Bills two weeks ago, but that result was sandwiched in between two losses that saw Green Bay give up 31 points to the Redskins and Lions.

Bottom line: We'd think differently about this team's place in the NFC had linebacker Clay Matthews not been flagged on a controversial roughing-the-passer penalty that wiped out a game-altering interception in Green Bay's Week 2 tie with the Vikings.

As for your plans, we suggest you dial in some middle-tier Chinese takeout, pour some overly priced craft beer and carve out some "me time" this evening on the couch. Kill Monday with style.

Let's do this shit.

beast (1h) : Dennis Green "They are what we thought they were, and we let them off the hook!"
Martha Careful (10h) : comment of the day Z2Cool "Bears better than we want to admit. Packers worse than we think. It's facts."
Mucky Tundra (11h) : my worst case scenario: Bears fix their oline and get a coach like Johnson from the Lions and his scheme
Zero2Cool (11h) : Bears get OL fixed amd we might have a problem
buckeyepackfan (15h) : Pretty sure they already have scouting reports on guys who aren't even starting for their college team. The future is now for me.
buckeyepackfan (15h) : I tend to let Gute and Co. Worry about the future.
beast (16h) : That's great news and Packers need to keep upgrading their OL, DL and DBs this off-season, so missing one guy doesn't kill them
beast (16h) : That's great news and Packers need to keep upgrading their OL, DL and DBs this off-season, so missing one guy doesn't kill them
buckeyepackfan (16h) : Jaire and Evans Williams are both ACTIVE! Good news.
Martha Careful (18h) : The badgers really need to change the whole offensive scheme. No draws no screens plus the quarterback is marginal
Cheesey (18h) : If the Badgers had a decent QB, they would have won. The guy can't hit a wide open receiver
Martha Careful (18h) : chop block
Martha Careful (18h) : there was a very questionable job Block call that upon viewing replay was very borderline
beast (17-Nov) : How so? (I didn't watch)
Zero2Cool (17-Nov) : Badgers got hosed vs Oregon
packerfanoutwest (16-Nov) : damn,he hasn't played since week 2
Mucky Tundra (15-Nov) : poor guy can't catch a break
wpr (15-Nov) : wow. That three different things for the kid.
Zero2Cool (15-Nov) : MarShawn Lloyd has appendicitis according to Matt LaFleur.
Zero2Cool (14-Nov) : He probably plays DB.
Zero2Cool (14-Nov) : I don't even know who that Don is
packerfanoutwest (14-Nov) : What position does Lemon play ?
dfosterf (14-Nov) : I read this am that Don Lemon quit x, so there's that
Zero2Cool (13-Nov) : Seems some are flocking to BlueSky and leaving Tweeter. I wonder if BlueSky allows embeded lists
beast (12-Nov) : He's a review guy
Zero2Cool (12-Nov) : Jordy Nelson is still in the NFL.
Zero2Cool (11-Nov) : Ok, will do.
wpr (11-Nov) : Kevin, donate it to a local food pantry or whatever she wants to do with it. Thanks
wpr (11-Nov) : Kevin,
Zero2Cool (11-Nov) : Wayne, got your girl scout order.
dfosterf (11-Nov) : I believe Zero was being sarcastic
dfosterf (11-Nov) : Due to that rookie kicker Jake Bates that Zero said "he didn't want anyway". 58 yarder to tie the game, 52 yarder to win it. In fairness,
Mucky Tundra (11-Nov) : Lions escape with a win
Mucky Tundra (11-Nov) : and now Goff looking better
Mucky Tundra (11-Nov) : Goff with ANOTHER INT
Mucky Tundra (11-Nov) : and now Stroud throwing INTs
Mucky Tundra (11-Nov) : Goff having an ATROCIOUS game
wpr (11-Nov) : Happy birthday Corps. Ever faithful. Thanks dfosterf.
Mucky Tundra (10-Nov) : stiff armed by Baker Mayfield for about 5-7 yards and still managed to get a pass off
Mucky Tundra (10-Nov) : Nick Bosa
wpr (8-Nov) : Jets are Packers (L)East
Zero2Cool (8-Nov) : Jets released K Riley Patterson and signed K Anders Carlson to the practice squad.
wpr (8-Nov) : Thanks guys
Mucky Tundra (7-Nov) : Happy Birthday wpr!
Zero2Cool (7-Nov) : Anders Carlson ... released by 49ers
dfosterf (7-Nov) : Happy Birthday!😊😊😊
wpr (7-Nov) : Thanks Kevin.
Zero2Cool (7-Nov) : Happy Birthday, Wayne! 🎉🎂🥳
beast (7-Nov) : Edge Rushers is the same... it's not the 4-3 vs 3-4 change, it's the Hafley's version of the 4-3... as all 32 teams are actually 4-2
Zero2Cool (6-Nov) : OLB to DE and player requests trade. Yet folks say they are same.
