Al Harris - Once you get him wound up, it's over.

I don't think Daryn can be called over rated, no one gives him props. At least not that I hear.

Lots of talk around here about Ted and company overrating the talent upon the roster.. that leads to the question..

Most Overrated player or position group on the current Packer roster..

A couple that come to mind for me instantly..

AJ "Cement Shoes" Hawk
Darren "Get your damn pads down" Colledge
Brandon "Can't get it done with consistency" Jackson

Yours...

Brandon Jackson? He barely got involved last year for no apparent reason. He was better than Grant last year, IMO. Who's talking him up to be overrated too?

My list:

Johnny Jolly - Was good in '07 and dropped off in '08. I don't think he's good enough to start on a lot of teams

Count me in with the "I don't see how BJack's overrated" group - I'd say he's the opposite and needs to be given more reps. Which leads me to...

Grant - he's got the tools, but seemed to get really soft last year. I'm willing to chalk it up to the hammy if he gets back to running angry again this year, but he looked like a very different back to me last year.

Jolly - Sure seemed to disappear last season, and the off-field stuff has to be taken into account - you can't be a top player if you're not on the field because you were suspended for being an idiot.

Harrell - This kid can't get on the field, let alone stay on it. His back needs to be ALL BETTER this year and I need to see him play the game. I'm hesitant to even call him "overrated" because his game's still such a mystery, but given where he was drafted the term fits (and will be replaced with "bust" if he doesn't show something in '09).

Daryn C seems to possibly be overrated by our FO and coaching staff, but he's certainly not overrated by the fans, most of whom seem to hate the guy. All I know is he's been less than impressive as a guard when I've seen him play that position.

I have been waiting for this type of post, this is why I rank him in the overrated group.

In limited fresh carries later in games and against a hapless Lions defense he shined.. now the Bjack needs more carries train is rolling throughout the fan base..

Come to camp healthy and win your role young man.

BTW... I know it is a stretch to a point, but damn this Johnny come lately routine of us fans is sometimes tiring.. lol.

Grant was the next big thing last season, proved it over the course of a number of games, but now is dog crap.. ;)

That is also why I rate him as overrated inside, after about three games into last season or on the tail end of 07.. it was evident that he isn't cutting in consistently as a guard.. why they insist on not replacing him inside is beyond me.

Aaron Rodgers-Ted Thompson gave him a huge contract, and this guy has yet to lead the team from behind to a victory or take charge and show he is a leader.

j/k. :thumbleft:

Hahahahaha sorry Foster sorry to disappoint you lol. I think Rodgers is over paid for one season of action that was ok in the stats category except for the most important one, but i won't go there. I don't think that highly of him so i wont say he's over rated lol :P

I think the whole defense is over rated IMO. They make no changes to the defense and think they will be ok in a defense they never played. Our linebackers are really over rated along with our safteys. The only guy i don't think is over rated would be Woodson.

As far as the o-line like a few have said we know they suck so they are far from over rated. The only players that deserve their props are DD and Jennings.

In closing i'll put in my most over rated part of the Packers and thats the FO and HC.

One season of top 5 numbers is better than zero seasons of top 5 numbers.

Matt Ryan - 6 years $72 mill
Aaron Rodgers - 6 years $65 mill

I think you're bitching about the position more than the specific contract. Young POSSIBLE franchise QB's do and will always get huge contracts. Welcome to the NFL. OHAI! Have a seat next to Mikey Sherman, and please ignore his snoring. He's had a long day of watching people run back and forth.

Seems like most know of A.J. Hawk's struggles so perhaps he's not that overrated. I think Ted Thompson overrates him though.

Ryan Grant
Chad Clifton after last year
Atari Bigby
Daryn Colledge
Donald Lee
Scott Wells
Ryan Pickett to some extent.
Brady Poppinga overrated by the team and underrated by the fans.

I don't think these guys are bad, but I do think that some people think they play on a higher level than what they really are.

I like how Brandon Jackson runs. He needs the ball more IMO. He had only 45 carries last year. He did average 5.5 yards a carry too.

Nick Collins. While responsible for many highlight reel feats of athleticism, he is also responsible for many of the miscommunications that created broken coverage and allowed big plays.

That said, I like him a lot, but I just think he is overrated.

[This intended for dhpacker and dhazer]

6 QB's had over 4,000 yards this past year, and Aaron Rodgers was one of them. He was top 10 definitely, and maybe top 5 but I'm not sure, in TD passes. He had 28 TD passes to 13 INTs.

I just don't see how you can strap all the losses onto his back.
