In case a certain very well respected poster is influencing you...
Just because z bitches about AJ doesn't mean he sucks. (AJ, that is) Z is an emotional fella when it comes to linebackers... It's a kind of a guy/linebacker/"I played that"/football-sense- gay - approximation thing he has going on. (Not that there's anything wrong with that), + again, his "affiliation" is meant in the football-sense, (not the other one, although I know how "they" can get, I used to watch the Navy in action all the time-see vikes rule). :violent3:
Multiple nuances meant in absolute humor, hopefully "taken" that way. lol
A.J. Hawk was "picked" by ALL to be the 5th player in that draft, he was taken there, and he is JUST FINE. Did I watch that Bears game alone? + I still think he was playing hurt for much of last year.

LOL... this particular player pisses me off more than any other that I can remember in years. It isn't that I think he sucks as a player, it is that looking back into his college years and even his rookie season the kid is capable of so much more as a player.
There were points and times during the season and after that I watched footage of his play and it pisses me off to no end.. how in the hell did he become so freaking tentative in his play.
Here was a kid at OSU that attacked, played with everything ahead of him and challenged play after play. OSU plays enough top competition that I thought his skills would translate well into the NFL game. And his rookie season it appeared that he would become a pro bowl type player annually.
This kid is why I hold such a pissed offed attitude toward Winston Moss's coaching abilities. Hawk has regressed each season in the pros, so either he is slacking on his end or the coaching principles are taking away his strengths..
Currently, I am in a hopeful state that the change in DC and staff, albeit Moss is still there, that Hawk will come to life and play up to his potential.
I rank him as overrated because of his potential and where he was picked in the draft. Again, he isn't a terrible player, but with his tentative "sit back and wait for the play to come to me" approach to the game lately, I hold him no more than a very "average" backer in the NFL.
And watching this kid play in college in person, for him to morph into a "average" player is a damn shame.
There is the reason I grind my axe with Hawk.. underachieving frustratingly maddening player to watch play the game.
