This move might be to solidify Colledge as an OT. Let's say we grab Preston. That gives us Spitz/Sitton/Preston at OG if Wells is C, and Sitton/Preston at OG if Spitz goes to C. Even if an injury happens in the interior, we still wouldn't have to move Colledge in. My guess is they're trying to establish Colledge as a tackle and leave him there for the rest of his career.

Mass, I don't think College goes to tackle until next year when Clifton's contract is over. So Green Bay's priority this year is to get a right tackle to start day 1, or be Tauscher's replacement. I have my doubts on Tauscher's return but more about his fall off in play prior to his injury. I like the assumption that Spitz moves to center because he is bigger than Wells. Wells has been a decent player, but I just think he is too small and he had to play through that trunk injury last year.

For this year I have already penciled in Sitton at RG, College at LG, Clifton at LT, and a big fat ? at right tackle. I don't ever want to go through the pain of watching Tony Moll start at RT again.

I am of the opinion that not drafting tackles in this draft with high picks would be detrimental to our future.

Well if Preston works out this year, it may enable us to move Colledge over to tackle in '10 or whenever without any worries about depth at guard. It could also be a depth move related to the Spitz move to center though, yeah.

I feel like the only marquee OT that will be available at #9 is Andre Smith, who has to be considered a risk right now. There are guys like Jamon Meredith who will be available after the 1st.

I think the biggest gamble we take is going into the '09 season with Pickett as our only NT. Well, not a huge gamble, but we could very easily see them completely abandon the 3-4 if Pickett goes down.

Yeah, I guess the draft is really the last chance to get a pretty good NT that's actually worth having....that is why I really hope we either get BJ Raji or Ron Brace.

Then again, we could have open try-outs and some random fat guy could be our starting NT....lmao

Here's a question I would think we would all like answered, and go pack... Why don't you go use some of that awesome energy that youth provides and let us all know. This might seem off-topic, but it isn't, as we have seen zip-squadoosh movement in free agency, and all of us have preconceived notions on what our priorities should be in the draft. Here is my question:

24 pounds of twinkies or titanium?

Don't know of which I speak, do you?

I blame the GB/Wisconsin media for that. I think those guys have to have a story absolutely dropped in their collective lap in order to pursue it. We have a guy that was popped on a marijuana charge, didn't play for his college team for like three of his four years, came out in his senior year and played outstanding, had an awesome pro day, but was dismissed "draft-wise" because of his lack of playing time in college + the pot thing. OK, all that fairly typical. Here's where it gets a little more newsworthy.

He ran a 4.91 He was always listed in college at "sub 300". (291, to be precise)

He was "got" by us listed at 305.

The man is 6'3" tall. The only thing that hasn't moved. He is NOW listed at 329 lbs.

I repeat my question. 24 lbs of twinkies (munchies?) or titanium (woke up and decided he wanted to be an NFL NT by pumping some serious steel?)

Fred Bledsoe

More possibly a Green Bay Packer nose tackle than most would ever think.

...I'm just sayin'

Fred Bledsoe is a Nose Tackle under contract for the Green Bay Packers...You guys do know that, right?

He WAS: 305

He IS: 329

Prior to the WAS he was 291, but that gets too complicated, ( :thumbleft: apparently :thumbright: )

The question is twinkies or titanium. 24 lbs worth. If it's twinkies, he will stay on the practice squad and/or go bye-bye from the NFL. (See "random fat guy comment from Go Pack Go) If it is titanium, he might be a diamond in hiding. 24lbs is a hell of a difference in a Defensive Tackle, last time I checked, especially a nose tackle. Translate that for me, will ya Dakota?
