On the one hand, I like the affordability of Kevin's idea. On the other hand, can you imagine the catastrophic dead money hit the team would take if they guaranteed Rodgers $150 million and he turned around and retired after a year or two? That's money they couldn't use to pay any other players for years to come. 😲

This is PROBABLY BS ... but reading around a couple of different fan sources seem to be suggesting some big trade could be coming this Friday with the suggestion that it has to do with Mack. There is also the suggestion that the Raiders MIGHT have given Mack permission to talk contract with a certain team who wants to trade for him and that the team is in the midwest.

I'm thinking it's BS, because it's oddly specific in certain areas and oddly vague in others. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Also one of the rumors, specifically mentions trades involving players both coming in and going out... (though it did not mention any names, so the names is me throwing random stuff out there).

But say Mack coming in... and Matthews going out to free up $10 million in cap space... and despite the Packers trying to shut it down, sounds like some rumors about Cobb might be dealt again...

And again, I think it was BS, but I'm just surprised how similar different rumors have seemingly been to be lining up... of course they could have the same source(s). But the Packers might be moving move big pieces (in or out) in the coming days... at least according to the rumors.

I really don't think he's worth 2 first round picks plus a $20 mil/year deal, but if they win a super bowl its worth it. Question is, is Mack the player to get them into the super bowl and win it?

Regarding the question, I'll defer to Head Coach Jon Gruden. “We weren’t very good last year on defense with Khalil Mack,”

🤷

The Raiders should take Clay Matthews, one of our WR (e.g. Trevor Davis) plus a 3rd round pick that can go up to a 1st round. And they should be freaking happy for the charity!

I heard on one of those sports shows, posted as a podcast, one of those shows from Green Bay local radio, that the new Aaron Rodgers contract does open up $15 mil for the current year.

If that is the case, a trade for Mack is a possibility. I just hope Goot doesn't give too much for the guy. I mean we get it dude, you`re the anti-Ted.

Spotrac has actually changed the contract structure from what they had yesterday. If I recall they had him making a base of around 8.9 million but today they have the base at 1.1 with a roster bonus of 7.8. It didn't change the cap hit though so I am guessing it was just in the guarantees and such.

For what its worth we Packer fans can now parrot the Patriots fans who talk about how little Tom Brady gets paid. We can now say Aaron Rodgers is only making 1.1 million dollars a year in each of the next three years. That is his salary. Bonuses add up to a wee bit more however.
