Tramon Williams provides 'biggest difference' for Packers

Are you buying into this Tramon Williams hype?

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Tramon Williams isn’t expected to be around this week. As a 12th-year veteran, he’s more than met coach Mike McCarthy's prerequisite to be excused from the Green Bay Packers' mandatory minicamp.

And at age 35, Williams won’t be around the NFL forever. But his influence on the Packers’ defense and his seemingly ageless play make it seem like he will.

In his second go-around with the team that gave him his first real chance to play in 2007 as an undrafted cornerback, the measure of Williams’ impact won’t come only in the form of interceptions and pass breakups but also in the influence he’ll have over the Packers’ young cornerbacks -- first- and second-round picks Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson, respectively, plus second-year pro Kevin King chief among them.

I don't know how much longer his level of play will hold up but he's certainly a good person to have on a team with a lot of young important players at that position. He came from being undrafted and reached the highest levels of play at his position and made THE game winning play in a superbowl without being some insane athlete.

Why can't I remember the game winning play Tramon made in the superbowl? I remember bush with an int and bush breaking up the last 4th down pass, almost intercepting that too. Fucking bush

This is probably perfect for new topic to discuss, but I like how we're adding some old veterans to guide the youngsters, instead of having young teach young.

Why can't I remember the game winning play Tramon made in the superbowl? I remember bush with an int and bush breaking up the last 4th down pass, almost intercepting that too. Fucking bush

Lots of pressure on Tramon, but as far as I know they guy has always been a professional and up to the challenge. Glad to have him back and being a vet leader in backfield. Hope our young guys eventually beat him out for playing time, but I know he will never make it easy for them.
