I wish people on this forum would stfu about Hyde and Randall. I'm tired of pointing out how awful Hyde was and most of us wanted Randall straight cut midway through last season

Z2C, the glaring lack of depth and talent on the d side of the ball necessitates a defensive heavy draft.
why waste arods remaining years?
you say i dont know who is poised to make a jump....ok, give me some candidtes... i am all ears. perhaps randall or hyde!!!!
we also dont know who is ready to fade, get hurt, like CM3 (again)
we need to draft defense, not QB

This time of year we should not be fretting over new kids. We should be evaluating three drafts prior.

I jus can't call someone idiotic when I'm ignorant myself. That's just me. I give folks benefit of doubt.

That said, I'm hoping the board shows elite players on defense. I feel that's where we need more players for Mike Pettine. Healthy ones!

sorry about your sensitivities
in the post i was asking which players from whom we should expect a step up. I am still waiting for possibilites regarding whom we should expect a step up from our talent laden defensive roster, esp at the CB or linebacker
Hyde certainly did. So did Hayward

Trust the board and get the best football player based on months and years of scouting. If that's Rosen, take him. If not, then don't. Pretty simple.

Drafting for need is stupid. Get the best football players. If a team consistently does that and fills glaring holes via free agency and trades, they are likely to be a good football team. I agree that if it was five years ago, taking someone like Rosen would be stupid. But if the Packers believe he could be the next Tom Brady or Drew Brees, not taking him now would be stupid. Rodgers is aging and there is absolutely no guarantee that he will return to his previous form after his injury.

Regardless of Rosen, the Packers need a very good insurance policy for Rodgers. I'm a huge Rodgers fan, but there are substantial question marks. Perhaps he puts all those to rest this season, but they exist for now. Hundley isn't worth the practice squad. Kizer may eventually be an acceptable #2 or good #3, but there's certainly no guarantee he'll be more, and he may not even be that. QB is still a need.

Project five years in the future. If somehow Rosen falls, the Packers pass, and he turns out to be the next elite QB, would we not regret that? I suppose we may not if Rodgers and the Packers win another Super Bowl or two in the meantime, but that's a long shot. The thought of the Packers having three generational franchise QBs back-to-back is quite enticing.

Traded away our pick. First time in years we had a pick in the top 14, and they trade it.
Looks like Ted is still in charge.
Frustrating.
