I wouldn't have made it public I'm matching that offer so quick. If you let it stew for five days, more CB's get taken off the market and Packers wouldn't be able to make a play for them as quick. Now the Packers know Fuller is off the market so they can get involved in other CB talks sooner. Probably not that big of a deal, but I think the Bears did Packers a favor by matching so fast.

The Bears made it known they're not bluffing.

Second message was to Fuller. By letting a player stew for 5 days the player can start mentally packing their bags so to speak, so by the time the team does match the player may feel slighted. Why'd they take 5 days to decide? I was starting to look forward to playing for this new coach etc.

Fuller knows pretty clearly now where he stands with the Bears and how they feel about keeping him around.

The cb market is getting pretty bare, as much as everyone is trying to label this a win....we still no corners....im sure gutes motivation was not to get the bears to spend more, he wanted fuller.

So far BG has done well, lets continue to trust him.

This draft has a handful of very intriguing CB options. I say we let this play out. ... We've got no choice anyway hehe

Looking to be more and more like it will be similar to 3 years ago when they drafted CB with the first two picks. Maybe its 1st + 3rd this year or 2nd + 3rd + 4th but I feel a real secondary rush coming. Good thing its supposedly a deep draft for the position.

Josh Jackson, Denzel Ward, Derwin James I think they all have to start considering buying a winter jacket.

Getting really tired of drafting corners high only to go into the offseason year after year feeling like we have no corners.

Agreed, but I am at that point where I would be surprised if we draft anything other than CB at this point with our first pick. Yes we need help on the pass rush, but Mo may help that from the line to allow us to consider a later OLB pick.

Trust me this new(ish) staff won't be drafting guys like Randall and Rollins and telling them to be corners. They're going to draft freaking corners.
