I'm not holding my breathe but the fact that he wasn't scooped up in the first few days of Free Agency is atleast a positive.

I still am holding out hope Burnett is brought back, the two teams rumored to be going after him were the Browns and Bears, both have made some FA splashes maybe the market is drying up on Burnett and the Pack can get him for under 7mil a year.

Also I think the replacement for Burnett is already on the roster in Jones + Dix, both are better at playing up in the box strong safety than they are at free safety. Its partly why I don't quite like the Derwin James draft talk, I know he's an amazing talent so if the Packers pick him he must be real special, but the position he plays isn't that different than where Jones/Dix are suited. What the Packers really need is a backline defender like Nick Collins used to be, someone who has sideline to sideline closing speed and can play the ball in the air. I don't think Jones/Dix and even Burnett to some extent will ever be that guy.

Looks as if they didn't official match until day, meaning that the Packers cap space was being held captive.
