Tight end was an all-around mess for the Packers in 2017; getting more out of Lance Kendricks & Co. or adding a free agent could help change things.

I didn't mind GB going after Bennett. It was a dismal failure when Marty lived up to (down to actually) his expectations. I am sure the results would have been different if Aaron had been healthy.
GB has so many other needs it is hard to see them plugging them all. Signing a FA again is probably the answer. As usual, there are not many quality TE in the draft. Hayden Hurst i the only one who is remotely first round material. It drops off from there. Walter's big board only has 3 others in the top 100 and they are towards the bottom of it.

Rumors and Stories abound in the off season, but I'd be glad if one were to become true. It involves the TE Jimmy Graham and getting him to come to GB. I would welcome him, but I'm not sure what that would take.

Anyone know the story on Jimmy Graham ? [shrug]

I don't think we need a top flight great TE. We just need a TE that's a vertical threat. Hell, look what Jermichael Finley did. His best asset was the fear he put into defensive coordinators and that opened things up for the Packers offense.

At this point one opinion is as valid as another. How about some 6 foot 9 inch "Bigfoot" that could not make it into the NBA. It's not so strange an idea, and has been similarly done before with varying results.

Send scouts to Australia/Argentina/ Albania and search out some undiscovered giant and see if he can catch a ball. [biggrin]

The 2018 tight end class seems pretty weak but there are some players with 3rd-5th round grades who should be worth gambling on. The packers also will likely have 4 extra comp picks in that range so it could be a good match.

3rd round
-Marc Andrews
-dalton Schultz

4th/5th round
-Mike gesicki (can't block but can sure run)
-Dallas goedert
-Troy Fumagali

Hoping the Packers add one or two of these guys.

Look what it added to our offense when we had Jared Cook for a season.
We sure could use a guy like him again.

Report: Dolphins will cut TE Julius Thomas

I would definitely like this guy in town.

I like some of these project guys in the draft, but their production is at least a year away. Michael Clark is the wild card. I like what I saw from him from the WR position late last year.
