IMO, GB's starting Receivers should be Adams, Nelson, and Ty Montgomery (as the Slot Receiver). Jones and Williams have shown that they can perform in the RB position. With Rodgers return, the TE position would only remain in question. Combined with GB's solid O-Line and they should be an elite Offense for 2018.

Yes, I believe that Ty Montgomery would serve well as a Slot Receiver. His size, speed, and good hands should give the offense an added punch. In addition, his field experience will serve the team very well.

Lots of people talking about Ty as a wr next year, I don't think McCarthy will switch him back. Stubborn sob

I think he's great in his current role, he got banged up but that's partly because no running back in the NFL was used more than him through the first 4-5 games. With the 3 rooks now entering their 2nd year hopefully they can strike more of an equal balance and keep them all healthier.

There were 15 running backs last year who caught 50+ receptions, Montgomery can still run routes from the backfield infact he may be much more dangerous there than lined up as a WR.

I really like Ty M. and think he has proven to be a bright, talented, and incredibly versatile player....very valuable. I think the team has to manage how he is used to avoid the hammering that running backs typically receive. Because of his sickle-cell trait (which he has never used as a crutch or excuse) he can experience more muscle breakdown than other players.

Accordingly, I think using him out of the backfield in passing situations, or in the slot, makes great sense, especially with the promising younger backs we have on the roster.

I want him as the slot WR. Even if he still runs 20 times a game he's far more useful lining up as a WR. Show 3 or 4 WRs with 1 or 2 TEs, if they have 4-5 CBs on the field then motion him into the backfield and bring the TEs in and ram it down their throat. If they have LBs on the TEs, throw it. His proficiency and ability at both positions is as much of an asset in ability to exploit matchups as the abilities themselves.

In days past where we had #1-3 or 4 WRs that could reliably beat the other team's #1-3 or 4 CBs, line him up in the backfield all day long and motion him out if you don't like the look. But we just don't have the matchup advantage we used to. If other teams can get away with single man coverage or don't have to worry about giving up yards in zone coverage, all of a sudden getting Monty lined up on a LB isn't nearly as valuable and it's much more likely he'll get help over the top.
