It's all just labels. With our current roster, it really doesn't matter what his position label says on the depth chart. He'll most likely be burried on the depth chart at either position. Which is a good thing.
In my eyes, a guy like Montgomery is best used as a situational weapon. You can line him up anywhere on the field and move him around to create some mismatches. You can't do that when he's your number one running back.
If you can somehow add an athletic tight end to that, you have a totally unpredictable offense.
I mean, you can come out with Adams, Nelson, Montgomery, Ripkowski and TE1... The defense doesn't know if you're going traditional I or 4-wide shotgun
