Kev, You already know I want Scot McCloughan so why do that? I wrote you an email yesterday that I wanted Scot and why I wanted him. There is no aura..no draw to the Green Bay Packers outside of Aaron Rodgers. He's a huge draw, but the rest of our org is vapid. We need some credibility. Ted was seen as a joke and a dinosaur as was pointed out in a not long ago Mike Freeman piece. There is no respectability here and I think bringing in an established veteran who has been successful is needed right now. If we go Ball or even Eliot whom I was okay with previously, I think it's just more of the same. Promote from within, do the simple thing, don't really try to get better. It would fit with the flatline approach over the years with Ted. We need BIG hires at GM and DC not run of the mill typical expected old Packers org mentality stuff. A Ball at GM and Darren Perry at DC would be Ted time in a nutshell. A McCloughan and Rex Ryan would send a loud message around the league that the Packers are serious about winning SB's. A Perry Ball hiring combo shows Packers are status quo and just trying to be as similar as possible to that past flatline approach.

Of course, I was worried about Scot's past personal issues, but if he's good to go, I think it makes sense to bring him back. I do not want Reggie McKenzie. When I heard him speak I almost fell on the floor. It was so unexpected. He sounded as bad as Lester Hayes after the Raiders won the SB.

Let him run his scouting company and make a decent living that way. Who knows, perhaps he will live longer that way.

I have none, Wayne and never intimated he was over his issues. I understand he has trouble with alcohol...I said IF he has his personal life straight, he's the guy I want. He's risky due to the nature of his past, and that almost surely will rule him out with safe plain jane Green Bay, but this is who I want, IF.

Unfortunately, I'm resigned more and more to the fact the GM search is a ruse and we're going to promote a bean counter to GM. Just lovely. Russ Ball will be making draft choices and using FA what little he does as a bean counter. I guess I shouldn't be too upset all he really has to do is listen to Sam Seale and we can bring in all the left coast draftees we can handle, if Sam doesn't leave, also.

Buck said something that is resonating today for the first time ever with me... Careful what you wish for. Russ Ball would be like rehiring Ted Thompson again to me, and I won't go through it again as a follower of this team. Enough would be enough. I'd find a new team to support. It would be tough but I would do it or just bail on the NFL altogether.

Ball can't have a more dysfunctional personality so that might be nice but what does he know about football? A D2 player who is in finance.

Give me the guy who has issues with alcohol..we've already lived through what we've lived through so this shouldn't be any worse.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Yeah, I like Scot McCloughan and he even interacts with fans on twitter but there's just no way I'd trust the franchise to him. Maybe if he wanted to come in as the top scout or even run the whole draft if Ball gets the GM job but I just don't think you can make him the top guy.

Murphy wouldn't admit if the board pushed him to can Ted.
He has to at least look like it's all him.

We need a new GM, that's for certain. Hopefully the new guy will put the team first, and the money side second.

I just wonder if that's going to happen in a lower capacity given he could've then come in a lower capacity before now.

This is an exciting time that could just as easily end in a dull thud like so many playoff exits depending on what they do. Org has a real chance to energize the fanbase and I just hope they don't blow it. The change is great but it can't be to the same.

beast (13h) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (13h) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
