No. Thank you. Wind it to 7 minutes in to hear from Reggie: Surprised they didn't get him a teleprompter...looks like he read from a sheet the whole way through.

Sorry, not sure how this ended up here?

We have nerd down for Eliot Wolf as next GM.

If the best and brightest people in the scouting dept get passed over what's to keep them coming back to 1265 Lombardi Ave? I realize they can't keep everybody forever. But I want a GM who is fundamentally strong when it comes to player evaluation. I also want someone like Ball pushing the pencil and working on the player negotiations. If he is kicked upstairs they have to go back out and hire someone to take his old position.

Wolf is intriguing. "Young kid makes good" kind of thing. This is the flip side to the Ball issue. There is more to being the GM than writing a scouting report. He may be a wiz-kid but can he really handle the big chair and all that it entails? I don't think anyone knows for sure.

Gutekunst would be jumping over Wolf if he's promoted. Wolf may stay if someone else gets the gig but may not if it's Gutekunst. I don't know that it would be the end of the world if he left. Just another factor to consider. If it comes down to Wolf or Gutekunst which would be the better choice.

Talk of Schneider, McKenzie and Dorsey are just silly. They all have jobs already. I doubt their current teams would release them without getting something in return. I am not interested in giving players or draft picks away for a GM.

Everyone else- I am not sure who else is going to be on the Packers short list. Hopefully they will bring more to the table than the internal candidates.

Thing is- the GB job is a plum position. I don't want to see Murphy try and reinvent the wheel. He doesn't have to take a college D-3 admin and put him into the big chair. He should be able to get whoever the best person is.

With Aaron in his twilight, I'm not sure this is perceived as a plum job anymore. What are the odds of a third QB being anything like Favre or Rodgers? It would be unprecedented.

Green Bay minus Brett and Aaron is viewed as Siberia. Honestly, I love smaller places but most people don't want to live in a place like Green Bay with the weather and all. You're at a competitive disadvantage minus a 4 or 12.

It was reported Greg Williams didn't come here as DC due to wanting to be in the south and not here.

I think Schneider may get out of the situation in Seattle. They're in shambles now with what's gone on this offseason already. He's from here. That helps. If things are all equal bring in a guy who already is familiar and loves the place and has passion for the Packers. That has been missing. It was missing in Ted, Mark Murphy and McCarthy too. These guys don't care about the Green Bay Packers other than this is where they got their checks. Get someone who would love being here like Sean Payton who desperately wanted to be here.

I STILL think the Packers have made their decision already, and are just making it look like they are still trying to decide.
I don't see a pro team not having this all set before they make it public.

No owner to screw things up.
Plenty of money to spend.
No glaring media like NYC or LA would bring. If you're competent, do your job and shake a few hands at the grocery store.
The season is about over before the cold rolls in. Pack up and head south if you can't handle it. But since coaches are in the film room for 60-80% of the day it doesn't matter what the weather is like.

Agree to disagree. I think Aaron has 3 Aaron Rodgers type years left, max. Brady is showing signs of fading the last few games. He's 40 and tied in with a guy who is questionable (Guerrero) and I wonder if he's juicing. Tom doesn't rely on movement the way Aaron does. Tom's game isn't affected as much as Aaron's will be because he doesn't have to or want to move like Aaron does.

Romo got real brittle at the end and finished early. Aaron has broken his collar bone on both sides over the last few years and his bones won't get stronger as he ages not even mentioning the fact they've already both broken.

I think Brian G has a good shot. I'm not sure I like Russ Ball. I'm also ignorant on him more than the other known possible in house candidates.

The part of the article that quotes a supposed friend of McCarthy pointing out how overweight reeks of bs. When a writer does this, whether completely made up or stretch of the truth, it prevents me from trusting anything else they write. This whole article is tabloid - gossipy, which is weird because McGinn's recognized strength is more on the player analysis side.

Bennett and AVP dumped

I think it was Bill Michaels talking about the possibility of both on his show. I initially said I didn't think anyone would take the fall for Hundley. Obviously I was wrong.
