Kenny Clark has 4.5 sacks in December and the 2016 first-round pick has been one of the few defensive bright spots for the Packers late in the season.

Kenny is slowly putting it all together. Next year he will take another big step forward.

He's a key player on this team. I've enjoyed watching his development even while the season has gone down the toilet.

DTs usually seem to usually suck as rookies... which is why Clarks surprised me by playing so well at the end of last year, of course the few extra playoff games helped, but his last year his best game was in the playoff game against the Cowboys OL. That says something.

Also with rookie DTs usually sucking even with training camp, is one reason I still have very high hopes for DT Montravius Adams, who didn't get a training camp due to an injury. But give him an offseason (or two) and hopefully we'll see very good things from him as well.

He's been a good pass rusher all year just wasn't racking up sacks earlier.

Kenny Clark is only 22 years old and the growth ceiling is still very high for him. We could have a real special pro bowler with Kenny for many years to come.

Drafting a 20 yo kid with very little experience for the DL in the first round is right up his alley. By the time Clark is really coming into his own, his rookie contract will be over and Teddy (if he is still around) will be tormented trying to decide if he should pay him what he is worth or let him go so he can get a 5th round comp pick instead.

2. What make you think drafting this kid was Teddy's idea to begin with? The draft in the last 2 years has been moving away from the ol Teddy MO. It sure looks like he is getting more and more help.

Clark was young but he also has two years of starting and three years of playing every game. On top of that, I read an article that said Clark was one of the college leaders in DT snap counts as his team was one of the few that weren't forcing DL rotation so Clark was trying to get as many snaps as he could.

Clark might already be into his own... PFF grades Clark out with a 89.0 grade which is good for 12th best interior DL for the year of 2017, which doesn't count Jr Watt, but does count Mike Daniels who they got with a 86.7 for 19th best interior DL. And I know not all trust PFF (and I'm not saying you should), but the kid is asked to two gap, he is dominated in the run game. Still working on the pass rush but he's showing some nice stuff recently and he's never going to be the quickest or most athletic.

Under Thompson they seem to have a strong history of drafting UCLA, as they seem to really trust their western division scout and really like the Pac-12 (which has me nervous for this years draft that seems to have a weak Pac-12 class)... so I do believe that this pick was Thompson listening to that Western scout, plus he was 20, and can be dominant at times.

Though I agree, it seems as if something has changed the last two drafts, though Capers defense is different too the last two years... a lot less 3-4... so maybe the Packers just changed what they're doing and looking for.

packerfanoutwest (10m) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (12m) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (12m) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (13m) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (13m) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (17m) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (17m) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (18m) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (18m) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (20m) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
Zero2Cool (22m) : I literally just said it.
packerfanoutwest (26m) : show us a scenario where Pack don't get in? bet you can't
Zero2Cool (28m) : Falcons, Buccaneers would need to win final two games.
Zero2Cool (28m) : Yes, if they win one of three, they are lock. If they lose out, they can be eliminated.
packerfanoutwest (38m) : as I just said,,gtheyh are in no matter what
Zero2Cool (43m) : Packers should get in. I just hope it's not 7th seed. Feels dirty.
packerfanoutwest (46m) : If packers lose out, no matter what, they are in
packerfanoutwest (46m) : both teams can not male the playoffs....falcon hold the tie breaker
packerfanoutwest (48m) : if bucs win out they win their division
beast (57m) : Fine, Buccaneers and Falcons can get ahead of us
packerfanoutwest (1h) : falcons are already ahead of us
beast (1h) : Packers will get in
beast (1h) : If Packers lose the rest of their games and Falcons win the rest of theirs, they could pass us... but not gonna happen
packerfanoutwest (1h) : they still are in the playoffs
packerfanoutwest (1h) : If Packers lose the remaining games,,,,at 10-7
Zero2Cool (2h) : We can say it. We don't play.
Mucky Tundra (4h) : But to say they are in is looking past the Saints
Mucky Tundra (4h) : That said, their odds are very favorable with a >99% chance of making the playoffs entering this week's games
Mucky Tundra (4h) : Packers are not in and have not clinched a playoff spot.
buckeyepackfan (4h) : Packers are in, they need to keep winning to improve their seed#.
Mucky Tundra (13h) : Getting help would have been nice, but helping ourselves should always be the plan
beast (14h) : Too bad Seahawks couldn't beat Vikings
bboystyle (14h) : We just need to win Monday night and were in
Mucky Tundra (17h) : Or ties, but let's be real here
Mucky Tundra (17h) : Other scenario was Falcons+Rams losses
Mucky Tundra (17h) : Needed a Falcons loss for a Seahawk loss to clinch
buckeyepackfan (17h) : Am I wring in saying if Tge Vikings beat The Seahawks, The Packers clinch?
Mucky Tundra (21-Dec) : Agreed; you stinks
Zero2Cool (21-Dec) : I'm not beating anyone. I stinks.
Mucky Tundra (21-Dec) : rough injury for tank dell. guy can't catch abreak
beast (21-Dec) : So far the college playoffs have sucked... One team absolutely dominates the other
beast (21-Dec) : Well even if you weren't positive towards a guy, you wouldn't nessarily want to tell the media that (if they don't know about it)
Martha Careful (21-Dec) : I think MLF want Love to look past the end half issues, and feel good about his play. Our coaches generally keep a very positive tone.
beast (21-Dec) : I think a great running game will do that for most QBs
packerfanoutwest (21-Dec) : Coach Matt LaFleur has said quarterback Jordan Love is playing the best football of his career.
beast (21-Dec) : Oh, that's how you keep beating buckeye, with cheating
Zero2Cool (20-Dec) : There is a rule that if your name starts with 'b' you lose 15 points. Hey, I don't make the rules, I just enforce them!
wpr (20-Dec) : and then there is Beast. Running away with it all.
beast (20-Dec) : As of tonight, 3 way tie for 2nd in Pick'em, that battle is interesting!
beast (20-Dec) : Lions vs Vikings could be the main last game as it could determine division winners or #1 vs #2 seed
