Call this a vent.. call this whatever.. but it struck me odd and actually pissed me off.

We all know about the Favre saga, the poor communication, and the divorce.

Now watching this Cutler thing unfold, with the phone tag back and forth, finally a face to face meeting and same results.. both sides coming out with opposing stories.. it seems so familiar.

How can it be, the seemingly reflective mess with two different franchises?

To me, it is pretty clear that last years events and this years face off in Denver have a very common thread, Bus Cook.

Why would he do this?

Simple.. if Bus gets his clients new deals, he gets a cut of that signing bonus and new deal figures.

Last year, if the Packers caved and let Brett walk, Bus would get a new mainlined IV'ed source of cash with a new signing bonus and contract.. in the end, we simply traded Favre so it kind of backfired.

However, this year, if Cutler gets dealt, he is surely going to get a new deal from a new team as part of the deal.

So while Bus might not be starting these issues, I certainly can see him helping push the issue along and create more trouble between the franchise and his client. He has self motivated reasons to do so..

I know it is maybe playing a little conspiracy theory here.. but the constant story of poor communication is just to blatant to ignore, IMO.

Some will say, when the Packers offered Brett his "Golden Parachute" of a marketing deal, how come Bus didn't stop and grab his coin. Honestly, I think that is what the whole meeting in Mississippi last season was all about with Murphy.. Bus trying to reverse the process and get Brett to accept. But the fire of emotion in Brett was too hot for that to happen at that point, and Cook spun the meeting as a buyout for the media.. adding more pressure to the saga..

Can me crazy.. call me Jerry Fletcher.. but I smell a rat in both of these issues.. and that rat is Bus Cook.

Bus Cook.. your no longer welcome at my supper table.

I dont think that is an issue at allto be honest from all the convos I have had with people close to that and what those people have said...

I do not believe Bus is just looking to get money

He might push the guys to believe they are much better and much more deserving of better treatment, but not just after the $

It took you this long to figure that out?

Kidding, kidding.

FWIW, I agree - now, it's certainly the agent's job to get as much as he can for his client, but Cook always seems to be angling for his own payday more than anything else.

I seem to recall, even, that Florio suggested that the whole Favre un-retirement was as much about Bus wanting one more big payday as it was about anything else.

As for Cutler, I don't know, though... you can't ever just go by what you're getting in the press, but I do wonder if the powers that be in Denver haven't been screwing him around a bit. If it turns out that the coach came in telling him "I came here just so I could coach you" and then they turned around and tried to trade him for Cassell, I think I'd be a bit pissed myself.

I am more focused on the confusion and poor communication than anything else..

Just like last year, if a face to face meeting of "adults" was held, the issue probably wouldn't have grown and been spun to what it is today.

Take this Saturday's meeting with Cutler and McDaniels.. the coach wanted just the two of them to sit and converse, deal with it and move on. Cook had to be part.. so the GM Zander was brought in as well.

Meeting adjourned, two completely different stories come it out of it.. complete lack of communication.

Sound familiar?

Common thread... Cook..

And about the Contract...

Cook is seeking a new deal.. hmmm imagine that eh. 😉

Some agents are pure evil. For example - D**w R*s**h**s.

Maybe Bus Cook is as well. I haven't thought of that, but now you got me thinking...

It all does look very familiar, indeed.

It does look like he has a hand in this. The thing that's most obvious here is that Cook seems to let his players think that they're essential to the team and have more rights or so. Maybe they have to a certain extent, but no one is bigger than a team.

Of course agents only care about the money. I don't trust a single thing orchestrated by Bus Cook with Favre, and Denver fans shouldn't trust a single thing orchestrated by Bus in regards to Cutler. Their only purpose in life is to make money for their clients so that they in turn get a cut. That's IT.

Biggest issue with Favre and Packers, miscommunication.
Cutler and Bronco's, miscommunication.

Both are QB's
Both have Bus Cook.
Both are white.
Both have single digit numbers that are even.

jk lol ... I blame Cook. Heard on the radio that Bus is a helluva a smooth talker and could sell an electric powered car to an Amish man with no license.

beast (2m) : I agree that it's BS for fans planning on going to the game. But how does it bring in more money? I'm guessing indirectly?
packerfanoutwest (13m) : bs on flexing the game....they do it for the $$league$$, not the hometown fans
Zero2Cool (59m) : I see what you did there Mucky
Zero2Cool (1h) : dammit. 3:25pm
Zero2Cool (1h) : Packers Vikings flexed to 3:35pm
Mucky Tundra (1h) : Upon receiving the news about Luke Musgrave, I immediately fell to the ground
Mucky Tundra (1h) : Yeah baby!
Zero2Cool (1h) : LUKE MUSGRAVE PLAYING TONIGHT~!~~~~WOWHOAAOHAOAA yah
Zero2Cool (2h) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (2h) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (3h) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (3h) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (3h) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (3h) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (3h) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (3h) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (3h) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (3h) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (3h) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (3h) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (3h) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (3h) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
Zero2Cool (4h) : I literally just said it.
packerfanoutwest (4h) : show us a scenario where Pack don't get in? bet you can't
Zero2Cool (4h) : Falcons, Buccaneers would need to win final two games.
Zero2Cool (4h) : Yes, if they win one of three, they are lock. If they lose out, they can be eliminated.
packerfanoutwest (4h) : as I just said,,gtheyh are in no matter what
Zero2Cool (4h) : Packers should get in. I just hope it's not 7th seed. Feels dirty.
packerfanoutwest (4h) : If packers lose out, no matter what, they are in
packerfanoutwest (4h) : both teams can not male the playoffs....falcon hold the tie breaker
packerfanoutwest (4h) : if bucs win out they win their division
beast (4h) : Fine, Buccaneers and Falcons can get ahead of us
packerfanoutwest (4h) : falcons are already ahead of us
beast (4h) : Packers will get in
beast (4h) : If Packers lose the rest of their games and Falcons win the rest of theirs, they could pass us... but not gonna happen
packerfanoutwest (4h) : they still are in the playoffs
packerfanoutwest (4h) : If Packers lose the remaining games,,,,at 10-7
Zero2Cool (6h) : We can say it. We don't play.
Mucky Tundra (7h) : But to say they are in is looking past the Saints
Mucky Tundra (7h) : That said, their odds are very favorable with a >99% chance of making the playoffs entering this week's games
Mucky Tundra (7h) : Packers are not in and have not clinched a playoff spot.
buckeyepackfan (8h) : Packers are in, they need to keep winning to improve their seed#.
Mucky Tundra (17h) : Getting help would have been nice, but helping ourselves should always be the plan
beast (17h) : Too bad Seahawks couldn't beat Vikings
bboystyle (18h) : We just need to win Monday night and were in
Mucky Tundra (21h) : Or ties, but let's be real here
Mucky Tundra (21h) : Other scenario was Falcons+Rams losses
Mucky Tundra (21h) : Needed a Falcons loss for a Seahawk loss to clinch
buckeyepackfan (21h) : Am I wring in saying if Tge Vikings beat The Seahawks, The Packers clinch?
Mucky Tundra (21-Dec) : Agreed; you stinks
