I think the first few weeks he was told not to run. They didn't want him out too. Now that he is allowed to pull the ball back and take off he seems to feel more comfortable. He has a very long way to go but he is doing better.

* some of his good numbers need to be credited to the receivers getting yards after contact. But what the heck.

3-4 as a starter. I see potential, and I like his play in the clutch. Obviously he's not where we would like him to be yet.

Looked ok after they reeled in the passing game to dink and dunk. Long ball touch is non existent but 2 weeks in a row he brought it home in OT. Got to give him props for keeping us alive.

This time the OL play was stellar, no one around Hundley and the valve to Williams would have never been covered. Surely, Hundley felt the footsteps of the rush when none was there [Like Nerd already said] or he would have waited for something to break downfield or bought time for a ref to see a defensive hold.

Hundley has good deep pass accuracy [not like Rodgers or Dickey good] just not the last few games. On the quick passing game Hundley doesn’t need to worry about the pass rush; but on those longer routes I’m guessing his mind is occupied too much by pass rush causing him to lose focus on route mechanics and fundamentals [Like Nerd has already said].

Hundley seems to turn it in when the chips are down. Maybe when he makes a crappy throw we have the backup start warming up and make it so Hundley sees it.

Prior to this year, in 3 OT games [Record: 0-3] Rodgers had 4 drive opportunities and his 2 Turnovers led directly to loses. Those drives are as follows:

3 and out -3 net yards-Drive ended: Fumble. Rodgers: 1-2-14, 1 Sack -7, 1 Fumb, 0 Rush yards.
3 and out, -10 net yards-Drive ended: Punt. Rodgers: 0-1-0, 1 Sack -8, 0 Rush yards
2 and out, 5 net yards-Drive ended: INT. Rodgers: 0-1, INT, 0 Rush yards
3 and out, -1 net yards-Drive ended: Punt. Rodgers: 0-1-0, 1 Sack -5, 0 Rush yards

Summary:

4 drives: 0 first downs, 0 points, 3 Losses; 11 plays, -9 net yards, 1 INT, 1 Fumble, 3 sacks for -20, 1-5-14, 0 yards rushing.

Hundley in 2 drive: 6 1st downs, 2 TDs, 2 Wins. 14 plays 114 yards [not a single negative play]. 0 Sacks, 0 INTs, 0 Fumbles. 5-6-51-1TD and 25 yards rushing.

The sample size is small; but significant given the stark contrast. When one factors in their relative talent there is no mistake these guys have been operating under a different level of composure in OT.

On the road that’s 4 impressive consistent crunch time 4th Q/OT games [Chic, Pitt, TB, Cleve]. In the last 3 series v. Browns Hundley was 17-21-108-1 [2 TDs and 1 field flipper drive (Starting at 3 and moving the ball 42 yards).

At home he’s played poorly except for a good 4th Q against Lions [Cant call this crunch time as game was over; but Lions were not playing soft] and 2nd Q drive v. NO.

There is no way his crunch time play is a fluke. It’s strange for him to play so consistently well in crunch; yet look like a consistently confused poor man’s TJ Rubley during huge swaths of games. His play at home has been consistently pretty bad. Very strange.

In fairness to Rodgers, in one of his overtime losses, he was shamelessly mugged with one in the most egregious facemask infractions I've ever seen inflicted on a quarterback.

Problem is, Mike's biggest weakness has always been a complete lack of comprehension when it comes to sports psychology. But it would be interesting to see if we could get him into that head space for a full 60(+).

You figured there'd be growing pains with him, but I think it's safe to say he's still the best option the team has versus any form of a street free agent like Kapernick.

Aaron still gives this team the best chance to win, but we'll have to see if he's cleared to go next week. Until that happens, you keep rolling with Hundley.

So used to seeing the Packers offense have very consistent success with a couple different types of plays in a game, and then him inexplicably changing what's working, the offense stalling out for 2-3 series, before finally going back to what was working/not being able to because we're behind multiple scores and have no time.

For the most part, we stuck with the dink and dunk which the Browns inexplicably didn't seem to try hard to take away. I credit McCarthy with that, and obviously Hundley as well for executing it.
