Rourke I am stealing part of one of your posts from the McCarthy thread and dragging it over here into one of the many Hundley threads.
For a couple of years I have contended that no GM is going to trade for Brett. Certainly not give up a high draft pick for him. Since there is 1 year left on his contract maybe it is a little early to talk about what happens in 2019.
Let's say there is no team willing to make a trade for him after this season is over. Brett plays out the his rookie contract and becomes an UFA.
Does some team give him medium bucks to be their backup QB?
Bigger bucks to be their starting QB?
Does GB make him a modest offer to be their Current version of the perennial backup such as Doug Pederson?
Even though I have been unhappy with his performance over the first three years, I wouldn't object if he is the backup for another 3 years.
