Speed? LOL. That has been a need for the past 10 years. I've harped on this over and over. The Packers have some weird obsession with "west coast WR's"... like them sturdy and middling speed. Cobb was a total departure for them but he isn't a WR1 type.
Janis is the WR1 type...yes, I'm aware, he didn't work out, but he and Charles Johnson had the athletic profile you need as a WR1, but we only bothered to attempt to fill that need with two 7th rounders. How about using a high pick on a guy like that?
Davante as a #1? Ooooh. I don't know about that idea. He's a nice complementary piece but not a guy you build your stable around.
Jordy should be gone. Cobb should be gone. The cupboard is very bare. Allison and Adams will be the only two left and neither can run.
This team has so so many needs. It's pretty incredible to try and even get a handle on what it needs most with OL issues, LB issues, pass rusher issues, CB issues, TE issues, WR issues, RB issues and backup QB issues. Ted should RUN from this mess he's made because he surely ain't going to be able to fix it in the mental shape he's in and one year on his contract.
Speed is key in today's NFL. We just don't prioritize it for some unknown rationale.
Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."
