I'm simply being open minded and objective, that the comment may apply to one of many different people... and I'm not putting blinders on and focusing on a single person.

The story may apply to any one of the following...
• Marvin Lewis (health problems earlier this year)
  • Mike McCarthy
  • Sean Payton (rumors last offseason he wanted to be else where)
  • Bruce Arians (rumors this season that he wasn't wanting to be back for 2018 which he says are false)
  • Bill O'Brien (reported that the O'Brien and the GM are butting heads)
  • Or even could be others.
• Last year it was offensive coordinator Norv Turner... so it might not be a head coach...

This story may apply to one of a lot of different people, I don't have to limited myself to a single person.

I don't see Bill O'Brien very successful or Bruce Arians. Marvin Lewis not very successful either. I think very successful would have to mean a Super Bowl win and above .500 record and with the team for 5 plus years or a length that merits time for new scenery.

Sean Payton has a very good defense this year and they are winning. Why would he wanted a change? That wouldn't make sense to me either. But hell, Mike Holmgren left Green Bay with a good defense and great QB so who knows.

Do you think Mike wants to coach another QB other than Aaron Rodgers?

Mike being the coach wanting out just doesn't make sense at all. We can blast Ted all we want, but we know (based on indications) his time is coming to end.

To coaches that there has been direct rumors of possible change and actually name the team and coach.
Which include Sean Payton, Bruce Arians, Bill O'Brien and to a lesser extend Marvin Lewis.

The original statement is completely empty of content. Why even post this if you won't say who it is? "Been told a few times now..." <-- aka no firsthand knowledge, plausible deniability if the post was determined to be wrong. This stacked on top of the fact that since nobody was named, there is no way to verify if the poster is trustworthy. My BS meter is pegged.

Or wait, I have an idea. I'll start a side job reporting on the NFL. My first tweet will be this:

"Been told a few times now that a certain successful running back will twist an ankle".

If any moderately successful runningback has any type of ankle injury --> claim credit.

If nobody injures an ankle, no sweat! "Been told that" means that your source was simply wrong. Better yet, since my ilk and I have been churning out empty garbage like this 24/7, by the end of the season this won't even register. The more of this crap I put out, the more retweets, clicks, etc I'll get, which is how my success is measured.

Thing is, I could definitely see Mike thinking it's time for something new. I mean, maybe it IS.

Mike is an egomaniac and wants to prove his success isn't all because of Rodgers, and he sure has been hearing that the last couple of years. Right now isn't a fair Prove it' deal because Hundley is horeshit. A place like Tennessee or Tampa is a perfect proving ground for him. This is why he wants out. Go to a team with a young average QB to prove he can develop him and turn the team into a winner. Do it Mike. Go try to prove your reputation as a QB whispered and highly successful NFL coach isn't complete bullshit. I dare you.

You guys are spending a lot of time arguing, it’s weird.

To me, if it’s McCarthy, the “very successful coach” remark makes sense because he referred to himself in this way last year.

That’s the reason to speculate McCarthy here.

I wonder how much arguing would be going on if someone else had made the post.
