He's playing "SAFE." Probably comes from Mike's personality and coaching emphases.
Dude needs to not play safe, just let it rip, go out there and strike at the defense. PROBLEM: Mike's textbook doesn't tell you how it FEELS to be in the game. It just tells you where to put your feet, and how to make your reads, etc. You have to then translate that into the real world first person experience. Mike has never had a grasp of psychology, which is why his teams are inconsistent and always go into lulls.
Step into the throws, STRIKE at the defense, don't delicately try to piece together a play step by step, remembering what the textbook said. STRIKE at the defense! This attitude will help him ANTICIPATE when guys are going to come open, hf will be able to SEE it happening before it does.
He was a little looser, but still tight on that first drive. He was striking, but still underthrowing, like on that long pass to Davante. But that first INT really spooked him. He want back into his shell.
