So we got a win over the Bears. OK that is good, but it was just the Bears. Next week we have a winnable matchup at him against the Ravens. They have a better defense for Hundley to face, but their offense hasn't been impressive. We then will probably lose against the Steelers followed by two more winnable games against Cleveland and Tampa. That would put us at 8-5 with 3 games to go at the window where Rodgers could first return.

If we assume that Rodgers could come back in win those remaining 3 we would end the season at 11-5. Even at that I don't think we would win the division. I don't see MN losing 4 more games in the remaining season, and I think we will be hard pressed to leap frog all the teams ahead of us for a Wild Card spot.

I'm thinking let Rodgers sit making sure he is healed 100%, remember Romo coming back from his collar bone. Let Hundley and who ever is left not in IR finish the season out good or bad, even if we somehow manage to make the playoffs. Even with Rodgers back I don't think the team is ready to make a SB push.

I am liking the Rams and Eagles in our conference. The Saints are right there too. Those three teams are the class of the conference. I don't think we have the defense to stop them.

This isn't 2010, but I would have said something similar about a few teams during the 2010 season.

I think Packers err on side of caution normally with injuries, but I would say if a player is ready after 2 weeks, you wait 3 weeks. If we are in the playoffs or have hopes by week 16, you bring Aaron Rodgers back and say let the chips fall where they may in playoffs. If we get blown out again, you get rid of the damn staff. 🙂

If he's healthy why not? The chances of a 2010 wildcard run happening again are small but there's still a chance, to pass it up seems foolish.

The Saints, Rams, Eagles etc have looked good but these are not exactly powerhouses with a track record of success. Any of them can falter in the playoffs.

And let's get real. At that point, we could be in a legit QB controversy. If Hundley keeps improving like this? Who says we'll even NEED Aaron? Bring him back, let him work on his arm strength in case we need him. If Hundley goes down, he'll be there.

Not to jinx, of course..

Right now, Dom needs to figure something out on the defensive side.

Many FAs wont come to GB if they have other options. The way GB handled Bennett's injury will GB has only made that worse.

If Rodgers can come back w/ a chance to make playoffs and the staff keeps him on the pines; if the word finds out GB will not be able to sign any outside FAs for market value and may not be able to sign their own.

This one is monosyllabically simply. If he's cleared he plays unless someone is better.

PFWT first of all it was just the bares so don't get too excited. I love the win but don't go all 11-5 on me.

Second there is no one going to convince Aaron to hold back if HE thinks he is ready.

Personally I don't think he can be NFL ready in the time frame allotted. If he does come back he is going to be rusty and it will take a week or two get get back up to speed.

The bares, Brownies and Tampa are the most likely games for GB to win. Let's revisit this if they add Baltimore to the list.

But if they beat Baltimore this week, then that 8-5 mark when Rodgers could first be eligible for return isn't far fetched.

I agree that he would probably not be ready immediately since it is his throwing shoulder and can't practice with the team while in IR so coming back even that first week is a very long shot, so it would probably be Hundley against Carolina also. Then do we bring Rodgers back for MN and Detroit?

Does it make a difference what our record is to bringing him back or not? If Hundley can get this team into the playoffs, how much higher does his trade value go? would the team be better off not playing Rodgers and just let the season unfold with Hundley

Does it increase Hundley's trade value? With so many kids coming out of college next year, I don't think so. If Hundley takes GB into the playoffs, maybe. If he wins a round or 2 probably. But then the next question is will GB WANT to trade him? I don't see Callahan as being ready to fill in next year

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
