Something Mike McCarthy said a month or so ago has stuck with me and I couldn't find the exact quote until now.

He clearly won’t carry the responsibility into the game that Aaron Rodgers carries into it; I think that’s obvious,. I’d be an idiot if I asked him to do that. But also, I think that’s really for [all] the other young guys who are playing. We don’t ask all our younger players to do all the things that our veteran players do because they don’t have the experience.

I'm not saying the backup should be able to make every throw the starting QB does because its not likely. But why not call the same plays and be just as aggressive?

There's no reason for the offense or defense needs to be complicated.
This is fucking football that all these guys have been playing for most of their lives.
Just let them play the game!!

That direct snap to Cobb wasn't "complicated." 🤣

A lot of veteran QBs are asked to read the defenses and make small adjustments, or maybe even to audible out the play completely... so less audibles and adjustments... which probably includes less OL adjustments.

A number of people mentioned when the Packers went no huddle, RB Jones left the field as Monty was in... speculating here, Rodgers was responsible for making sure everyone including the rookies were lined up correct... so less rookies in high-tempo moments.

Rodgers basically is allowed to anything he wants as long as he can back-up why he did it... including maybe calling his own plays... Hundley probably isn't allowed to do all of that.

I just read it as Rodgers probably having a lot of freedom to adjust plays due to his ridiculous ability to process information and extend plays and throw on the run. I don't think it's a complexity thing just a Aaron Rodgers can do this so let him do it thing but you can't expect another QB to be able to do it.

It’s only normal. Rodgers didn’t have 100% of the play book his first year starting. Some QBs might be limits to plays on 1/2 or 3/4 of the field instead of all.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!
