Bennett is a better overall tight end then Cook is, he just didn't have enought time to get into chemistry with Rodgers. It's a shame we are losing him this early. I would of loved him to play a full season w/ Rodgers at least and get chemistry in the playoffs. No problem ... if we look at his performance in the past couple of games ... a lot of drops.
Glad To Be A Packers Fan.

Hey, if we had the benefit of hindsight we could all be NFL GMs. Also, zero guarantee Cook would have had the same success in GB that he's having now.

The way he has played, it looks like his heart was never in it anyway.

If Bennett does retire... should the Packers then go after FA Jimmy Graham?
He's struggled with the Seahawks... of course the Seahawks keep asking him to help block... even thought he's basically a 6'6" WR.

I'd also look into TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins as well.

Just shows the crapshoot that is Free Agency. What looked like a great move a few short months ago might bite us in the rear next year as we will have to find a replacement as well as eat over 4 million in dead cap.

If he retires, then I believe the Packers can ask/demand for the unearned signing bonus money back like a number of teams have done and won't have any dead cap money.

But if he yanks the Packers around and they cut him, then they would owe him the entire signing bonus.
